as would i..i have several non aligned ships i use on my various captains in my wyn star cluster fleet that i use to represent them not belonging to any real faction...they just lean towards helping that faction when needed for profit reasons.
Maybe its time for Cryptic to expand their idea of what the community can do as opposed to everyone grinding to simply blow things up. Though i'm not a merchant and never will be, I would love seeing merchants and interacting with them, beyond the confines of the exchange..
think of a player based commodity exchange where can actually load your ships with resources and ply the stars selling to planets and/or other players...if you dont like to craft...you could sell all that stuff you acumulate ona player made exchange. Or even better....you could help other guilds build thier starbases by selling your stuff to thier vendors that they put in thier bases. Better the vendor the better the price but more credits it costs them to keep them up and running etc.
They could then put in a skill tree called *Merchant* or something...and it would allow you to get better prices for your stuff ya sell and so on....man i would blow cash on that in a heartbeat.
Would be awesome...better than doing all STO with a T1 ship over and over again. Great challenge for any captain!
Being that the Tuffli Freighter and Suliban Cell ship are T1 grade vessels, and have been since the initial release...
While I haven't tried it, I think someone did and said that once you get the box to the freshly minted toons inventory, you can crack it open and start using it at the same point you can officially ditch the Miranda / BoP / T'Liss for it's C-store replacement(s)...
Now, it's pretty expensive to grab a freighter just to run it through the what, half hour you're still in T1 ships after the tutorial advances enough, but that's the option...
As such, for "endgame", the freighter's are just as combat capable as any other T1 C-store Cruiser...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I think a lot of players would grab more of the specialty ships, especially if there were admiralty missions that only freighters or cell or small ships can complete
The Tuffli's Admiralty ship has good 'filler' Stats (13/10/10) that often provides me with the numbers that will complete the 100% chance of success.

Odd question of the day i guess...did anyone find any way to make this thing combat capable? just curious...as i play freighter captains. :P
I haven't taken my Tuffli into an STF since the Devs banned them there. The ships is really glassy, but you can put up a fight if you are using the right gear. I would suggest using Romulan Hyper Torps and 2 Omni beams. Just remember, it is a T1/Shuttle ship, so performance is going to be diminished compared to some other ships. You might want to check out a video on someone who used the NX in an STF as a base to build your Tuffli up for a fight. There are only a handful of PvE queues that allow you to Pilot a Tuffli.

Sign me up for this. Bring it on Cryptic, I'll buy it.
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
Rather than the distinctly stay on the railroad tracks for your particular static faction 'WoW in Space' vibe they went for.
