Putting aside the whole T6 Connie thing for a bit... is this our new T6 Vesta coming in?

While equipped with cutting-edge scientific technology, the Eternal-class was designed to fulfill a number of roles in the field. Built to operate alone on the frontier or as part of a fleet, the Eternal is a versatile part of 31st century Starfleet.

Think of it as a hybrid of the two. It may not be able to use the skins of the Vesta and Wells, but it'll essentially function like them, hence "spiritual successor".

I certainly don't see a way to kitbash that ship with a Vesta.
Though I wonder in general if the other ships are "kitbashable" with currently existing ships. The Daedalus is a 23rd century Olympic, the Perseus is an Akira, the Gemini could be a Stargazer. The Ranger might be an Akira or a Patrol Escort.
But kitbashing these ships just seems like it would look quite odd. Unless the TOS material is responsible for a large part of the look.
Cryptics ship designations are all over the place. They really need to take a look at that and streamline them, make lineages clearer and most of all do not use the same terms multiple times. Just look at Battlecruisers, Battle Cruisers and Command Battle Cruisers. Those are all different types of ships.

So I guess that means we can still only guess on whether or when we'll get a Tier 6 Vesta.
Good catch. Come tot hink of it, the "multi-mission" thing in a Starfleet vessel is really superflous to begin with.

that doesnt make much sense considering the vesta is 25th century design and the eternal is 31st century designed, thats 500 years to go without upgrades. if the vesta was to get a t6 upgrade it would come later on when the devs have a focus on it.

The way I've personally justified the timeships being T5/T6 in 2409/2410 is just that they have to accommodate normal starship functions and time travel. That forces compromises but with 500 years of development that still leaves them at the modern top tier when it comes to combat.
Of course if you chart progress as something that always goes up and by the same or increasing amount that's still hard to justify. But this is, after all, a video game and being able to use cool ships irrespective of every practical consideration (such as physics) is pretty much the point of it. So a few things overlooked (or an alternate view of technological progress taken, it can peak or at least proceed more slowly than in the past) isn't much to ask.
Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
wheres that garbage scow! i will add some hull plates some weapons, a better warp core and make my enemies eat dirt, disposed of nappies, old food if they chase me. i bet it could beat a 31st century dreadie and win.

In my view something drastic happens between the 25th and 31st centuries which changes starship design for the federation. Maybe newer warp tech or something like that, hence the visual style that matches nothing in the current period. This could be a distant decendant of the Vesta line which has been built in the future style as future ships seem to be. Clearly tech in the future is advanced enough nacelles are not required, you see it with the Wells, Möbius and also the Na'kuhl ships.
I mean the different look makes sense if you accept tech has changed drastically. We don't expect a zepplin to resemble an F35, but both are designed for flight.
It's an interesting way to get round the licencing issues of the vesta, just build a far future version!

As far as if the new ship has a hanger or not, we will need to wait and see. Given time, more info will be forthcoming.
