Like which shoot poison, which have shhot fire, which are fast vs slow, which explode or have special animations upon death etc. ?

well, Borg, Romulan, and Voth ships have special death animations. Borg make masses of floating debris when exploded, Romulans singularity collapses, and Voth do that Warp ship thing.

Death animation: They fall to the ground

    Devidians: Proton (?)

-Captain level mobs have an ability to one hit kill via a mine of death or their 'backpack' of death-

Death animation: They fall to the ground

    Borg: Plasma

As far as I know, no one has compiled a list of those characteristics for ground mobs. I think people just pick up a sense of who does what from working with them in the Foundry or playing the game (these are the same basic units). And there's big advantages to that intuitive approach given how much variation there can be within mobs.

Some members will have some special characteristic, ex. cloaking devices, targs, or shields, which others of the same group don't. It depends a lot more on rank and faction, not mob, and a lot of those special abilities are exclusive. Treating each as its own category therefore has definite problems associated with it. Something like "poison" may have general idea behind it (ie. poison) but the units that use it (Fek'lhr ensigns, Bluegill, spiders) differ so much in how that you're going to need a special description for each faction (and rank) explaining all their variation. And at that point you're better off just making a general set of descriptions rather than a spreadsheet, considering this applies for just about everything. Weapon speed? Are they KDF? If so are they using their ranged or melee weapon? Ranged? Could be a pulse wave, but others use dual pistols and other disruptor weapons too. Depends on what mob and who in that mob you're talking about.

Fundamentally STO NPC's haven't been built to make a trait/stat spreadsheet easy to make. That isn't to say that no one could (you would just have to generalize a lot), but it's something you'd probably have to do yourself if interested. :)

Oh yeah, pet summoning. Some summon pets. You can't change how the pets look at all. This is especially important with Remans, Hirogen, and Cardassians, but only the Captain mobs.

Don't we also have a mob that includes a Changeling? Pretty sure they look the same in combat no matter what we skin them as.

Klingons too (targ), and Gorn (attack saurs). Those handlers will also be included in mid-tier mobs.
