Game crash during loading screen after last update: anyone else?

So I've been on vacation for a while and just decided to play. Updated with the latest patch and now the game crashed during the loading screen with gameclient stopped responding error. Anyone else having this problem or no how to solve it? It has happened three times in a row and I've tried a restart of my computer to no avail.

    Not getting crashes but my Disconnect issue is back in all its fury. Couldn't even play the FE last night because I couldn't make it to the Maco girl right after the start. Literally disconnected every 5 seconds or less till I gave up.

    Crashes are constant, despite having "Reduce File Streaming" set to "Off" (an old source of map loading and crashing when it was "on").

    Also, why does it take logging into STO from a different IP address to fix a character load issue?

    I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

    I had this pop up yesterday. I found out that AMD did some kind of stealth update to their drivers. I uninstalled them and did a force verify and was back up and running. If you have AMD drivers you might want to check. Hope this helps!

    april 12th,a day STO players will hate forever! april 25th,two new patches,still nothing fixed.

    Check if "On demand patching" is switched off.

    Running AMD with NVidea here and haven't had any problems.
    If problems continue then for Windows 10, launch in safe mode. Change video setting to DX9 setting, windowed maximized. That combination should resolve any problems.

    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    I find it curious that this stealth patch AMD has done has screwed up STO/Neverwinter so badly for my wife when nothing else she plays has been touched with issues of any kind.

    Would you say thats AMD, or Cryptic.?

    I know who gets my vote.

    After 6 yrs i have learned to deal with the bugs and lag, the Jan. 2015 patch that broke the $60 in Dyson ships i bought and to "this" day" have never been fixed even though it has been stated they are, well, i got by that too.

    I just find myself wondering why it is always "this" game.

    AMD changed Catalyst to Crimson or something like that so I just rolled it back. Typical Radeon issues I guess.

    yeah, I don't use AMD, never had issues like that.

    This could very well be an AMD video card driver issue. Windows update pushed a driver update on my system that was an old driver that didn't respond well to the latest game client. Surf out to AMD's website and download the latest AMD video card driver and apply that driver. That got me back up and running in STO.

    A good initial test that this is in fact what's causing your problem is to rollback your video driver to the previous version. If it works after the rollback, just get the latest AMD video driver and you should be fine.

    I had this exact issue when I tried to log into the game after a week away on April 20th. After searching the forums for a similar post and not finding much I ended up starting the game in 'Safe Mode', then switching to fullscreen after I was logged into a character. Haven't had the problem and haven't had to resort to 'Safe Mode' since then.

    i've been getting crashes although using a backdoor as in playonmac. however before last weeks patch the game seemed to be running smoother than it had been for me in a while, that the time between season 11.5 launch and last thursdays patch.
