The descriptions in the tooltips for the engineering ultimate ability: EPS Corruption and its enhancements include references to plasma damage. This makes sense, since the damage is to the EPS system of the enemy ship. Is this damage enhanced by any consoles or skills? My guesses would be either plasma consoles or particle generators (which boost the plasma cloud damage from the particle emission plasma torpedo), but I would like to know if either of those - or something else - have any effect before spending the skill points to get the ability.

I'm guessing no also because it's plasma, there are at least three separate types of plasma in the game that do not benefit from the same skills/consoles (plasma energy type, plasma torpedo type, embassy console proc), so it wouldn't be unprecedented for them to invent an entirely new damage type that bears the name "plasma".
So basically, the Federation is an organization that exists to protect and preserve peace. I guess we do an awful lot of killing though. Oh well, that isn't important, for now let's roll up our sleeves and get to work.
Despite any possible boost the EPS corruption is sadly a joke compared to the other to ultimate abilities. I hope cryptic adjust it a by a lot to be competitive. On my other toons I went for the better calls, and all calls seem better.
-> Tac ultimate: Massive team DPS increase, sadly big lag causer atm.
->Sci ultimate: I went for it on a sci toon flying a paradox. Most fun I had in ages and probably more first places in CCA in one week than in the year before. Sci stuff is mega lethal there now (grav well, subspace vortex eg).
->Balanced: I gave one of my engineers a good balanced mix! Cool, I have a nice HSE tank now. My friends and I rocked that map multiple times over the weekend. Balanced works nicely without much felt downsides.
