What happens to the Abandon Ship Explosives Expert doff with the removal of the Abandon Ship?

Just wondering if we could get a dev response for this- will these doffs see some sort of redesign or a new associated ability?

In an upcoming patch they will be granting a small chance to taunt or placate enemies hit by your torpedoes, based on your Threatening Stance state.

*torp boat* oh god, I love this. It'll actually be useful in pvp too, give a reason not to just leave threatening stance on all the time.

Taunt and placate have no effect in PvP. Unsure how addig those would affect the stances chosen. Could you clarify what you mean @illcadia

Actually, placate does have an effect. They basically make the user temporarily invisible to the target. No one uses Jam Sensors anymore, but that's what it does.

But Taunts don't have an effect. Though theoretically, if Crypic wanted, they could probably find something - Scramble Sensors/Confuses cause you to switch targets, a taunt could feasibly switch the target to the user of the ability.

a taunt that works on players would likely work similar to jam sensors, except instead of making it so you can't be shot, it makes it everyone else on your team can't be shot, leaving you the sole target

in fact, if i recall, lone wolf in the pilot tree has this exact effect

Technically speaking, it's in the game engine to allow players to be affected by Taunts (based off of previous conversations w/ @borticuscryptic , who can fact-check me on this).

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.
