Hmm...need to take a closer look at these crafted consoles, me thinks. :)

    Thanks for the info. :)

I love raiders. I play the Kor off and on with a torpedo bomber spec, and i never leave cloak if i can help it.

The issue i have with the Kor are simple ones: They implemented it far too lazily. It's a lovely raider, but look at the other ships, then look at the Kor: Our cloak animation's busted, we have the Federation (quantum) console rather than the Klingon (photon) one, the engine animation isn't working at times, and i've had several instances where the wings litterally start flapping. Profitable or not, at least cryptic can give us a product that's properly finished.

I must also point out that if Cryptic wanted the KDF to be profitable, they should not have half-baked it to begin with. This is like a car company complaining that one of it's models isn't selling because it's been made to look like a rusty, poorly-maintained version of it's more successful models. If you want to make a profit out of something, make it appealing.

Note, due to the change to the captain skills tree, the [Grav] mod is now known as the [CtrlX] mod.

So people are bashing on BOP? I was saving up to buy one. Probably be my first Tier 6 ship. I already knew that things like escorts and raiders were glass, but I didn't expect so much hate from this one. Hard to find reviews for the Kor, but I am still want it for my Kling. It's beautiful ship more so than half the ones cryptic chucks out.

What can YOU do with that? That is something the current KDF playerbase as a whole no longer knows what to do with, it seems.

Except a few of us that have been around long enough to have fallen for the BoP playstyle and have experimented heavily to find out exactly what we can do with it.

Haven't you had a ship before where you thought, "Man, if only this one station was at least this rank" or "If only this had a ___ LtCmdr for here."? The price of the versatility is -1 total BOFF skill count for the Non-Norgh BOPs but the Norgh pays for the full BOFF skill count with -1 total Consoles.

I would shout for joy if my T5-U Fleet K'tinga had just one more TAC power. Only has three total. That fourth one would be soooo nice!

Using any BoP well, in this game as it currently is, is the mark of a highly experienced and well skilled player who truly understands STO. My hat is off to "the few". I have tried on numerous occasions and my skillset just isn't quite up to snuff. Yet. As with anything at this level, Practice and Failure are both required in copious amounts. I am currently getting quite a lot of both.

But to say the T6 BoP is not good for endgame is a mistake. The only mandatory equipment for any ship in the game is a competent Captain.

I wholeheartedly concur with you Patrick. It's no suprise that Cryptic has a bad business manifest when it comes to their games, but we're talking about the Kor specifically here. Hell, we both know we could write several books on the mistakes made in the past by Cryptic, but let's stay on-topic here. The Kor is a niche-y ship, that needs touching up both mechanically and aesthetically. But it's not a bad ship per sé.

That said? It's not for everyone. You'll be flying around trying to dodge everything kinetic-based, since it can one-shot you, and positioning will be a thing for you more than anyone else. I die alot in mine, but still love it.. and pulling off 235k crits feels damn satisfying.

Ok after reading this, I can go on to say I am going to get my hands on one. It's too iconic for a Klingon not to have one, I'd probably feel naked without it.

    Correction.
You'll feel naked WITH it ... which will prompt you to fight SMARTER and with better situational awareness. It's as close as this game comes to feeling like a D'k Tahg fighter. The one thing you CAN'T do all that well with a Kor is be a Main Tank ... which is NOT its job.

if you fly BoPs/raiders and science vessels, you like challenge (we are not including science dreadnoughts, which are the most blatant forms of power creep i ever seen).

For the record if anyone wants to know what an intel BoP would feel like and have the delta pack, the Feaht does a damn fine job of it. I built a reman captain specifically for that ship, what did she fly tier 2-4, KDF Birds of Prey, same tactics that work in the BoP work well in the Feaht the only thing missing is raider flanking (it even has the enhanced battle cloak) downside of course being you need to run a igh tac build in it still since it lacks the universals of the BoP.

I wasn't planning to make it a main tank. Cruisers are for that sort of thing. I don't know why people are complaining so much. And go easy on the caps lock I am quite cable of reading.

Since firstly, they likely willnever release another BoP EVER, and secondly, I saw it as a monumental challenge, I got the Kor (and the fleet t6 Brel) to use with a science Klingon captain. Because, you know, I like trying to make hard builds work.

Using a Biomolecular/Terran DHC/DC/Torp setup, sciencing the Commander boff seat(Grav Well, DRB, HE, ST), I've been using it for everything.

ISA, KSA, CSA, CCA FEs, everything I would normally do.

After getting used to cannons again (theyre waaaay better now), I've got it to be able to do pretty much everything I do- well, even. Its at about 63k dps in ISA, can dps in KSA, the Enhanced battlecloak is just silly against the Crystalline entity....it CAN be done.

Although it is far, FAR easier with pretty much every other ship...it can be done. Is it optimal? No. What saves it (being a 4/2 ship) is the console, which is outstanding. It's basically another forward weapon. The trait is actually good for any cannon build...I only put DHC to mess with the trait, and actually liked it.

All in all, its ridiculously fun, and I forgot how much I liked BoPs and cannons. I so wouldn't recommend it for 99% of players, though. Most endgame content is far far easier (I can't stress this enough) with pretty much anything else, and I think I'm pretty much getting to my ceiling with the ship, at least with my skills.

Heh. The only way to survive in Kor in the Badlands Battlefield is to fly with your Shields Up ... thanks to Terran Cheese (which is to say, Federation Cheese).
