I appreciate tools like this! But the whole Skill Revamp is still pretty much in flux now; so, for me, the latest Tribble patch simply remains the most accurate.
Once it's all finalized, though, this should become a major skill planning tool!
Oh it's not meant to replace Tribble or anything. The only reason I'm putting it out there now is so that people know that, on (or at least shortly after) patch day, they won't have to suffer through costly trial and error. And that they can share builds with their friends. That kind of stuff.

Works awesome, I shared your tool with a dozen of my fleet mates in chat yesterday and they like me to extend their thank you to you.

Not being able to choose a skill path without committing every single point as you take it is a massive blunder.
"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
wow just tried it and you need 9 toons to get all possible training manuals... why the heck did they make it so you need to pour 22 skill points into Sci to learn a Tac or Eng Training Manual? So as a tac officer I need to pour 22 skill points into Sci to learn it... then on a different toon I need to pour in 22 points into Eng to learn that Tactical Training Skill Manual... basically you need 3 tac toons, each one spending 22 points into 1 class tree to learn all possible tactical training manuals... rinse and repeat to Sci and Eng... basically killing any interest for me in this game.
Why not just make the manuals you need now and some extras instead of worrying about what may take your abilities to craft them in the future away?
It seemed like a good idea at the time, and I figure it might be helpful for people. Feel free to report any bugs, as its still very much a work in progress.
Thank you for this, I will go use it now.
One day Cryptic will be free from their Perfect World overlord. Until that day comes, they will continue to pamper the whales of this game, and ignore everyone that isn't a whale.

Amazing! And has already helped me figure out some things with my plans for my toons. Thank you!
I only just figured out how to build a ship full of FAW beams. but now I may try a cannon torpedo escort and hope it is easy to learn how when this patch comes out. maybe because I am new it will not be hard to adjust? but I had someone help me when I joined who was a beta player and tribble server player so I had no problems going right to hard stf and never failing them unless someone trolls on purpose for fail. that helpful person I never see anymore he plays Starwars and EVE more than this game but maybe I will find someone else that knows as much and is wanting to help me when they change the skills
Since no one could tell me how to know how many Respec tokens my toons have available, I went searching myself, and discovered that you just need to go to a Skill Trainer, click "Respec", and the Skills GUI shows the number available. I don't know how I got so many, but my 'toons vary from 5-11 repecs per toon, depending on the age of the 'toon; ironically, the newest ones have the most respecs...
I just mention this because we are not likely to get the new skill tree right the first time.

This is great @aesica even in its 98% complete state its a fantastic little tool already, it has really helped cement the revamps approach in the few grey cells i have left.. and that is no mean feat let me tell you so thanks for taking the time, and sharing your work, so we can all save time, and very likely, zen!
Necroing this to let people know that a new version has been uploaded.
Changelog:
All icons are now properly implemented.
Skill data should now reflect what's seen on Tribble. Please let me know if I missed anything.
Builds can be saved either to files or via shared objects (flash cookies).
You can get a crude readout of your skill totals. I'm not sure I want to do much with this feature because it doesn't really reflect the whole picture--bonuses from consoles, traits, doffs, etc. It also doesn't reflect selections from the unlock paths. More hassle than it seems like it's worth.
Note that some browsers will purge shared objects when they purge cookies. Shared objects can also end up getting removed by programs such as ccleaner, spybot s&d, and other programs that clear usage tracks and such. Files are more reliable, but the shared object method is quicker, easier, and more organized.

So yeah. Cheers, enjoy, etc.
Awesome, thank you for your continued efforts on this project.

Well done.
But, I have to tell you that there have been a few changes on Tribble again.
For example, Ultimates unlock a point earlier then before, and the EPS FLow / Impulse Shunt thingy has been changed so you only need the first pick to qualify for the Impulse Shunt thingy. Some unlock choices have also been switched around.
But on the plus side, the release date for 11.5 is out now, so we know when the system will (likely) be solidified.

Yeah, noticed this last night. I went to use the page and many of the skills are now in different places. It could use a little re-arrangement to catch up to the Tribble release, but once it's updated it should be pretty cool.

Man they're busy. I was there yesterday and everything seemed in order. Oh well, once it patches, I'll take a look and see what's changed. Thanks for the heads up.
Okay, it should be up to date (for now). Also note that all past save files have been rendered invalid. This is not only due to the skill layout having so many changes, but also because I was using crappy (and unnecessary) data compression that occasionally broke things. That's gone now.

Makes it much easier to reskill than doing it on tribble!

Thank you so much...
Just what Im doing.
Thank you for this, I will go use it now.
Also intredasting you can't have a pure tactical or whateva spec...
Amazing! And has already helped me figure out some things with my plans for my toons. Thank you!
It cannot go live in that state. That's just...malicious.

Talent?! Is that from WoW or something?! Maybe just call it 'Skill calculator.'
I otherwise look greatly forward to seeing this in action!
You're right though. I should probably change it to "Skill" at some point, just to prevent confusion.

Yep, perfect now!

+1 OP and thank you very much too.
Enjoy!
