Infuse Alien Artifact With Rare Particles...

jontannerjontanner Member Posts: 14 Arc User
Hi folks. I'm trying to do this mission but I'm a bit confused. I have all the required particles, obviously the artifact itself and a couple of scientists who appear to be correct for the mission but the 'Begin Assignment' button is still greyed out. Is there something else that I'm missing that I need to do first to get this to work?

do you have any red icons or a scroll bar that's hiding requirements?

Nope, I checked for that. I wonder if it's a bug. The only other thing I could think of was a rank requirement maybe?

Strange. I hate to state the obvious, but do you already have 20 doff missions running already, and therefore no available slots for a new project?

Looking at the wiki it looks like you need to be 40+ to do these missions.

Also make sure you are using the Strange Alien Artifact (blue rarity) and not the Powered Alien Artifact (purple rarity) which is what this mission makes. The Engineering mission Fabricate Console uses the Powered Artifact to make a totally random standard mk XII console with a random rarity.

Not sure why you want to do the mission other than to be a completionist. With all the new reps consoles and crafting revamp it has made this mission pointless, since you spend time and effort to collect all this stuff and have a random chance of getting any standard console and can be any random rarity from common to very rare. While with crafting you can be certain of exactly the type of console you are getting just the mods are random and with upgrading you can spend less time making multiple MK II consoles for the right mods you want and then just upgrading them.

You cam get similar results running the Experimental Console mission under engineering where it just costs some doff time.

I was doing it more out of curiosity than anything else, just wanted to do it the once. You have given me the answer though, it would appear to be not a high enough level yet. Thanks :)
