Seems like I'm not the only one with this issue, but ever since the 2/19 shard mant. my game gets stuck on the Star Trek Online New Dawn screen and never loads. Please address this issue.
Same issue. STO stuck on new dawn. Oddly, Tribble loads fine, it is only holodeck that is effected.
I have been having this problem for nearly as long as I've been playing. I started with STO this past summer, but shortly after I completed the tutorial and transferred my character to Tribble, Holodeck stopped working for me. It just freezes on the loading screen. Periodically I will get the error message related to dx11, but it is intermittent, and normally it just freezes up.
Recently, a few Tribble users were experiencing the same thing. On the Tribble forum, it was suggested that one restart in safe mode, log into Holodeck, reset the graphics card option to DirectX 9, then save settings and restart. In Safe Mode I was able to access Holodeck just fine, changed the settings, then saved. Restarted normally and it works.
Not sure why. Not sure what the problem is. Don't care. I'm back on Holodeck. Try it, it works.
The fault, dear friends, lies not in our devs, but in ourselves.
Same here. The game locks up while loading. Game is completely unplayable and I've gotten no help at a ll from support. Submitting a ticket is pointless as I never get a response. This is an ongoing issue many people have complained of and the Devs seem to be ignoring it. After this post I'm deleting the game and will not come back.
Unfortunately i have the same issue , i got this intermittently for a while maybe a year or so back but after a second attempt it loaded. But now its constant, i just cant play and was gutted to miss out on all the anniversary events due to this.
Stuck on version ST.55.20160110c.33. At the botom left, login screen from Perfect World. Keeps on running and the game doesnt even start.
This sounds more like an issue with a corrupted file or incorrect file version. This happened to me just before the issue with the patch server and only resolved after the game decided to repatch itself.
When you have the launcher open, look under options from the links at the top right. Ensure that on-demand patching is unchecked and also check force verify. These will do two things - (1) Force your system to check every file connected with the game and (2) Fully patch the game to the current standard.
This may take 20-30 minutes depending on internet speed and how many files need to be downloaded. However, it will ensure you have all the recent files and will also prevent downloading of data from patch servers when you are trying to load data from your hard-drive.
On-demand patching is great if you want to avoid large patches but is a false economy as you are then required to download any changes each time you load a new map/mission/quadrant etc.
Also, if you are still experiencing issues after trying this - posting as much data as you can about your system will help, such as operating system (remember to say whether 32 or 64 bit), system ram, cpu type, graphics details (on-board or graphics card with manufacturer & graphics ram) etc. The reason for this is that some issues may be OS related or specific to certain graphics cards or drivers and providing this data will allow other forum users to give better advice.
