Why can't my characters mail to each other

This involves characters lvl 50 and up. All have the required 20+ hours for that mailing restriction and of course it isn't listed anymore. I use to be able to mail between characters on an account. Now I have to mail them to a whole different account then mail them back to the account. Is this a new bug that has come about. This has been going on for about a month. Is this a way to force us to buy shared bank slots? Or is there something wrong with the mail system in game.

    First, go buy 1 Zen from the exchange. That could unlock it. Helped on my F2P account when I didn't want to wait for that silly 20hr timer.
    Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

    These are characters I have been playing for years on, so they aren't new. This is the account that started when the game first came online 6 years ago.

    If I put items from inventory into the 5 inv slot in mail, enter the main account i.e Johndoe@action and click on send but the inventory does not get removed from my personal inventory. So the send button works but the inventory never leaves the player. Also sending messages with no inventory attached the same issue the mail "sends" but never shows up with any of the characters on the account (I checked this once just in case). I even made sure my mailbox in game was empty. meaning no mail, totally empty and still it does this.

    Are you standing next to an in-game mailbox?

    Also, to mail to yourself you only need @youracountnamehere with nothing in front of the @.

    Did you turn off the "Allow others to email you" option in the privacy tab? I did that to deny spammers and it turned out I denied myself as well.

    Yes I am at a mail station, tried it both on ESD and DS9, so it isn't site specfic error. To mail to myself, I just enter the first 3 letters then it autofills. I tried the @youraccountname and it ask for the information in front of it (meaning no luck sending). I will check my privacy settings to see what they are when I get in game.

    I checked the privacy settings and none are set that would or should block mail between char on acct. Hope the patch on friday fixes this as having to mail to a 3rd party to have it sent back to the right toon is getting ridicilous and I will not buy more shared bank slots either (hint hint).

    it sounds like your account has a bug/corrupted entry. I would contact support, this isnt your usual derp (didnt go to a mail console, didnt type name right, box is full, etc).

    No I made sure box was empty and capitalized every letter that was in the other character name, let the computer choose, etc., still nothing. However they can send out to a different account and vice versa. So I now totally dependent on transfers to another account and then return or trade to and then back to who I want, long and silly. I doubt Cust/Tech support will fix, after all I am a freebie.
