He would probably want too much money for it and he isn't exactly known for his love of the franchise to begin with
Though I wouldn't be surprised if we get archer in the game. They already said there was going to be another actor brought in to do voice over work but didn't say who. Add the temporal cold war storyline and the fact that blogs are hinting at some sort of time travel involving the enterprise, it kind of narrows it down to three possible people
correct me if I'm wrong but didn't something bad happen a long time ago between players of sto and him? that he said he wanted nothing to do with the game?

If I recall it was Shatner and Branflakes on twitter.
Well it's 2410 and the Nexus energy ribbon should be in Federation space again. It would be neat if we were to meet the essence of Kirk, the same way Picard spoke with Guinan when he was there.

I knew it was something like that just couldn't remember who what when etc
*Que Zachary Quinto taking up the mantle of voicing Spock...*
Quinto is already a voice in the game.
He is the Khitomer Emergency Medical Hologram in the Fed tutorial.

Actually this is the last one because some evil timelords punched a hole thru time and created a time loop so the anniversary event will run all year long and again and again and again. Every month you can grind your way back up and make billions of krenim time ships that won't get you anywhere except to a 98% restoration which will be missing the 2% which contains all the bug fixes over the past 6 years. So if you cannot login that is why.

Uh....Did I miss something then?
Or was shatner just upset that cryptic wasn't into his idea of endorsing the all branflakes challenge?

That wasn't how it worked. That echo thing that was going on happened because of the whole trying to transport people out of the nexus when they were already there so it did some weird duplicate thing where they didn't entirely leave, or something like that
The Branflakes thing isn't really an issue. To make a long story short, Branflakes tried to get Shatner to play the game and bugged him on Twitter too many times. Shatner basically views that as an unpaid endorsement (he's not a gamer) and got annoyed and ignored/blocked Branflakes. However....Shatner loves work, he has certainly come to terms that he will be remembered mainly as Kirk (he does the Creation conventions every year and is Flagshipping ALL of them this year in addition to the Star Trek cruise...thing) He would want to be paid (and the amount would be the biggest issue here), but has said he'd be open to playing Kirk again.
shatner alone would cost a lot more than cryptic is willing to pay. that won't happen, especialy since i remember reading that they could hire some good actors from trek to do parts rather than 1 big name costing more than all the others put together and then some.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

This is what I'm thinking. They try to get as many of the supporting cast as possible which seems (I have no idea about actor's contracts and rates) to work best with people who don't do anything "major" recently or currently. So we get Masterson, Russ and even Dorn but I'd say names like Shatner or Stewart are pretty much out of reach. You might get the guy who played the helmsman on Enterprise - his role (and no disrespect to the actor at all) was completely superflous in ENT so he might make an appearance in STO and it will be sold as the bestest thing ever happening
I personally would of course be thrilled to listen to the remaining TOS and TNG actors in their old roles once more, but actually I think Cryptic would do better saving the budget and improving the game with it instead of hiring guest actors, as I feel their roles are always hamfisted into the game and don't feel "organic" at all, plus we are more or less forced to rehash old plots in some way or the other. While it's a nice gimmick, it doesn'treally help STO at all, in my opinion.
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
They do apparently have rights to voice recordings from the shows. A "Trials and Tribble-ations" episode would be awesome in my book even if it's canned dialogue.

Maybe a reunion of the remaining TOS cast? one last hurrah for the TOS crew? that would be the most epic mission ever imo

Why not? He's a fairly good Spock. It's not his fault the script he had to work with was utter tripe.
