STO opening on wrong monitor and also can't get 800 day veteran out of mail

Open launcher and it opens on left screen.
Hit engage and it goes to full screen windowed on right screen.
Normal full screen it goes to left screen.
It shouldn't be going to the wrong screen like this
Also I have mail in game with an 800 day veteran reward item in it yet the take items button is greyed out.

BUT...do make sure you are at a console in order to collect items from your e-mail. Collecting e-mail attachments will not work from the envelope on the mini map.

It's quite common. Thats why video cards have more than one port. You plug both in and you have a longer desktop and games run on the primary monitor. It lets you play videos on the other or something else. Or for artists having reference image on one screen while drawing or modeling on the other. Being a 3D modeller and animator you need 2
Not 100% sure on this but iirc when the company I used to work for introduced personal laptops that could be docked at any workstation, some of the machines exhibited similar issues when docked at a certain station and would open our emergency response software on the secondary display. There should be a facility in either windows and/or graphics control to id the primary/secondary monitor for apps and to reset to desired settings. (Unfortunately I no longer work there or I would have asked the IT tech for details)
I have noticed that with duel screens the PC tends to remember where you had certain windows and use that monitor again, after you get to the character selection screen select options and display and select the display mode "windowed" you should then be able to drag the game screen to the other monitor, once you have done this select "window maximised".
when you quit the game your PC should remember which monitor to use for the game screen.
as I lifer I never received any rewards via mail so I have no clue, what item is it anyway.

Once you've started the game, in the settings menu, click Display, Video Card and you can pick which monitor it uses.
