What would be great is if you could access all unrefined dil for in game items like Fleet holdings, rep items, Upgrades ect, but the 8k daily is a pot you put aside for the purchase of Zen so the refined and unrefined trade places.

Downside. with no cap on how much dil you can earn and use, who would buy Zen to use as dil ?. There's the answer why the cap.

Meh. Don't care if the dil/zen rate goes up again. Still better than spending money on STO.

    0.o?

I guess I can squeeze my 3 alts in, to do it... between grinding Omega and an excess 750k Dil on my main...

As a newbie, I would vote for a double refining dilithium bonus weekend, really 8K/day is nothing...

We've been asking for a higher refine amount since they introduced Dilithium to the game.

This is the third dili weekend in a comparatively pretty short period.
What are they trying to achieve?

Is this a band-aid quick fix for the average joe not earning enough dili?
    If so, fix rewards.
If not, I can only see this as attempting to influence the exchange rate by flooding the market.

And with Omega once a year event on, it's completely the wrong time to be running two grind events simultaneously.

I don't see it happening since it defines the relative value of dil.

Sure, the one thing other than the Tarantula I haven't gotten out of the Mirror lockbox just happens to be rich dil vouchers. :p

It's pretty sad that people are complaining about an increased dilithium weekend because they are worried that it will impact the dil exchange. I get that some people don't want to pay money for Zen but now they don't want to grind so hard for it either? Talk about First World Problems!

Zen isn't the only thing that can be done with dil', don't you know?

How about raising the refine cap for a weekend instead of having us collect yet even more unrefined unusable dil.

    This.

Would like a "Refining Weekend". I have more ore than I know what to do with.

That is funny in a way. The ones trying not to spend $ for Zen is still spending $, but using someone else. As that is the only way to get Zen.

I do it either way so it don't phase me. As it stands now, its cheaper to buy it with $. As I rarely break over 1k Dil when I play.

And on top of that, fix doff missions so it properly rewards for critical success. It's been broken for a while now.

    Will do jinn

Not sure if sarcasm applies here. More a statement of an observation.

Each time Cryptic has had an event with a time vs effort sink, like these mini games, they have put in the marks or dilithium weekend. It gives us a choice, sure, but it also creates a distraction. Do I continue with my efforts to complete the daily for the event and earn those great omega upgrades for all my alts? Or do I sacrifice those for dilithium and force myself to play longer to get some of both. For players with less time it becomes one or the other.

What I am is somewhat disappointed with the event. This is the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek phenominon, not just the 6th anniversary of STO. It is a big deal for Star Trek fans who play STO but the activities in the event aren't doing much to commemorate the franchise. We are still just grinding for some fairly decent resources but how much are we having fun and commemorating a great beginning to a history making story?
