I was told that this was THE ship to get, and so I have gotten it, now I need some help to
maximise the bext out of her.
What I need help with:
Build... whats the best for damage?
Hangar pets, against which ones are best?
and I need to understand how to make this a really well worthwhile ship. I had the Dyson sci ship before
and I went to this.
so help me out, let me know what you think and how you build so I understand how I can Tweak this into
the monster I want it to be.
Last question... compare this to the jem'hadar dreamnought with the jem'hadar hangar pets? which is best?

Pretty much whatever route you're gonna take (sci dps, pew-pew dps, drain) could work thanks to it's sweet console & boff layout.
Despite the seductive weapon layout it would work pretty sweet for some exotic damage build. Gravwell, TBR, DRB, FBP, etc... All of this powered by 5 partigen consoles & OSS will hit hard once you throw it out. Add some special torp like the grav or PEP and you'll have an entertaining show of doom & destruction.
A tac heavy build with some sci support can also work. Dual banks in the front, omins in the rear, throw a gravwell out to get everything together and start blasting with BFAW + OSS or for single targets surgical strikes + OSS.
A drain boat could also be fun with this thing. Max out your flow caps, get tachyon beam, Tyken's & stuff, polaron beams and shut down anything that crosses you.
Basically you can do pretty much anything as long as you focus on it. Half assed builds will lead to half assed reasults but going full out on a specific style and you'll kick butts like there's no tomorrow.
As for the pets, kinda tricky issue. The aeon pets don't seem too impressive so I'd most likely go with swarmers or scorpions or maybe even tholian widows. Delta flyers could be good for their abilities but those are fed exclusive. Generally fighters & shuttle die way too qiuck to make an actual difference so basically whatever floats your boat.
Just too bad it dosen't have access to a beam-frigate.
Hard to compare it to the jem dread, both are very different and can specialize in their areas. Generally I'd say the Paradox wins bacause it can do a lot more things than just plain old point & shoot though the jemmy probably wins in that department. The jem dread may also have some better pets and one more hangar but the combined package of the time dread makes it superior in a number of ways.
My current set up (In short) is antiproton beams in front with a torpedo launcher, Omni's in back, and maximizing particle gen in the consoles. The Temporal consoles are in my tac slot, two RCS consoles in engineering, Advanced Oblisik warp core for the 10% to ap damage (not optimal I think but it's what I got right now). Dyson rep shields. Solanae set deflector, engines, and secondary deflector. Leech is in my last engineering slot.
The energy weapons are just puff damage and a means of boosting my power levels. I put a tac officer in the universal. The ship has only Tactical Team, Hazard Emitters, Reverse Shield Polarity, Science Team, and Engineering Team for heals. I so far have been able to get away with it with healing on beams and attack pattern beta. Being able to use Temporal Backstep every 2 minutes is amazing as an 'oh snap' button (plus further enables spam of science abilities and the other two consoles).
Maximize weapon and auxillary power. Primary damage abilities are Gravity Well III, Tractor Repulsors (with the DOFF), Torpedo Spread II, BFaW I, and overload II. Love the effect of the Paradox Console + Gravity Well III + Torpedo Spread II + BFaW I. Then fly in and use tractor repulsors to basically finish everything that isn't dead yet off.
