question: console from the chronometric calculation set

the console which will be available next week is a tactical console. why??

the polaron bonus is already 1 of the worst available. 2 pieces from the jem'hadar space set give +15,4% polaron damage: 2 pieces from the nukara set give more bonus!!

example for phaser energy:

- console quantum phase converter -> + 20% phaser damage: universal console. added to the counter command set, the bonus is very interesting

It has a particle generator bonus. I don't know how significant it is, but for science builds that don't focus on energy weapons, it could be interesting.

Also, I think there's other sets available from the Dyson and Delta reputations.

Not entirely sure if the set bonuses add polaron damage, but some of those items do add radiation damage which can be a nice bonus if you're using polaron anyway.

    Why?

A: They didn't want to give us scientists anything awesome.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

Well science ships shouldn't really care about tactical consoles anyways so it's fine I guess.

not true, how you can fight when your sci skills are on cd? And since when Polaron is limited to sci captains. If I'm whining here (yes I'm whining lol), this is for my tac fed captain, she uses exclusively polaron weapons.

my fed engineer with tetryon weapons is more efficient than my tac with polaron weapons (they use the same ship).

yep, but Polaron weapons are specialized to drain powers (my toon is a drain specialist, she uses tychen rift, siphon, and the nandi trait). maybe they should modify the console and remove the + exotic damage.

    Waaaaa.
I love the new console. Fits my vaadwaur emitter equipped ship perfectly. +pol, +torp, +pgen. Awesome.

These days you shouldn't have to worry about science power cooldowns if your building your ship correctly. It's pretty easy.

If your flying a science ship you should look into torpedoes, especially the reputation ones have lovely secondary effects that are boosted by drain or exotic damage builds.

While I agree with you, I belive the phaser console been universal its an exception, becouse federation usees phaser and the majority of players are feds. At least thats what I think it may be the devs reasoning. Its the only one like that, and there is also Console - Science - Temporal Disentanglement Suite wich, obviosly, its not a tac one either. Shame that the kdf dont get parity with the distruptor one called Console - Tactical - Harmonic Resonance Relay from the Preserver Resonant set.

Ohh and it has nothing to do with the console having + sci passive skills bonus in it, since the phaser boosting one has also +[Flow], a sci skill, and a hot restart to aux power lvls...

bah! I found a solution, simple and effective. my fed tac will have an antiproton build. At least, this will be the end of all my troubles with the sets, and she will be more effective. I don't even know if a drain build is effective against the npc with all their shield power etc, and like I don't do pvp; my problem is solved. :p + no need to do this average FE again.

Its actually a Science console, not Universal.

Also, Phaser damage has no space equipment (thats engines, shields, deflectors, warpcores) that give it a damage bonus, so as polaron does I fail to see what the problem is.

This console will be awesome for me. My PartG stat will hit 500 now and it uses one of my completely useless Tac slots. Farewell Assimilated Console *Kicks it to the Curb*

I don't know bioneural infusion circuits may replace a prtg console because of how much crit you can get.
