  Before, I would have said no. But given how cookie cutter everything is now. Yes, just get everyone under the Federation Banner and be done with it.

  Not allowing Romulans of opposing forced alliances team up together yet still play the Republican friendly card is about as twisted as it gets.

  It's a code thing. Surely you realize this? Feds and KDFs can't team up as well. Unaligned Roms also can't join fleets. It's not because Cryptic is mean. It's because of how the game code works.

  When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

  yeah, apparently choosing an alliance actually changes your captain's race. Why? Faction is actually a function of character race in STO, so playable races that are cross faction are actually SETS of near-identical races. In the case of RR, it's a 3-way split, Unaligned(who can't do much), Fed and KDF, for each of the playable RR races. This is part of how the game keeps track of what ships, and character costumes you can use.
