What a joke, Server maintinence has screwed my game play!!!!!!!!

What a joke, Ever since they did that so called server maintenance all I have had is server issues, Keep getting booted and even crashes? Before you did any work I never had one issue and I am talking about years not days weeks or months!!!! Looks like the hamsters have screwed you guys and girls again and I find this a complete joke that you do all this work and yet you make things even worse than they where before. If I was your Boss heads would be rolling!!!!!!

    The server is down genius.

    The problems have been a result of an outside attack by a disgruntled player and are not the fault of Cryptics staff.

    The only joke here is you and your childish temper tantrum.

    First of all, there's no need to be hostile. This situation is not Cryptic/PWE's fault. There is a lunatic that has been DDoS attacking the Neverwinter servers off-and-on for the last few months. Unfortunately, attacks on the Neverwinter servers affect the STO servers as well. This person has recently hit his stride since Sunday, with 8-10 separate attacks.

    We're all suffering here, and there's really only one person to blame...

    Any slack-jawed yokel with a bit of cash can hire a botnet of infected PCs to attack a server via Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS). There's nothing much anyone smaller than Amazon can do to stop a DDoS from crippling servers as long as Cletus keeps paying the bills for the hired goons.

    I know the notice on the login page says Game play is not affected by the problems on the web page, but ironically I cant log in the game but accessed this page just fine.

    LOL Yea what ever jokers. And now you are saying it's an outside influence means it's even more of a joke!!!!!!! Infact lets hope some of your credit card details are ok!!! then we will see if you all post joke replies like this!!!! ;-)

    There is a big difference between a butthurt script kiddie DDOSing a site, and a hard core hack.

    Ok, here are some of the things to keep in mind before you spew your grammatical drivel.

    1) Yes, DDoS attacks can be used to gain said information by diverting system resources away from security measures.
    2) The person claiming responsibility has repeatedly said that his attacks are directed at Neverwinter, not STO.
    3) Both Neverwinter and STO share resources in the same server farm and therefor are linked on a hardware level but not necessarily software level.
    4) We, as members of this forum, have a shared task to police ourselves and our responses as befitting the intellectual level that we purport to have. Some do rather well at this, and unfortunately, there will always be trolls.

    Keeping these things in mind, and the fact that no one really knows if this individual is also a member of these forums, could the hateful rhetoric being spewed forth not be playing into his games and letting him win? No, I am not discounting your spoken worry, it is a very valid point. I am only calling to light the way in which it was presented.

    There was no real malice intended. Only a few have seen it like that. And surely we are able to speak our minds within the rules? Have I broken any? NO. All I have stated is it's a joke that since the server maintenance I have had nothing but lag, Rubber banding and crashes. This is long before todays event. But now it has come to light that someone who is peed off with Neverwinter and perfect world can TRIBBLE the game makes this more of a joke!!!!! Some are Fan boys so I know I am going to get some stupid replies but like I said it's a complete joke and now we have todays events it's even more funny plus the fan boy replies makes it better than reality TV. ;-)
