Everybody talks about Die Hard and Harry Potter. What about Dogma, where he played Metreon, the Voice of God? Or Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, where his turn as the Sheriff of Nottingham made Kevin Costner as Robin of Locksley look like a community-theater player?
It is possible that Robin Hood is my most viewed movie, it was with me throughout my youth. Sad new indeed, completely unexpected.

i remember him mostly from die hard, ahh the good old monitor bomb down an elevator shaft to kill some baddies on a lower level that hans gruber sent on christmas, to create a fireworks display on a police "car", of course the smart cop with the twinky in his mouth says it won't work, but did anyone listen to him? nope.
Alan Rickman did a great job with his role on die hard, sad to see him leave us.

"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."
