Romulan BOFFs on the exchange

I know that there are KDF & Fed BOFFs on the exchange. Do Romulans have BOFFs they can buy there? Can you use Fed if you are Fed faction? Is there a filter for Romulan specific BOFFS? Thanks

Yes. Really, yes to most everything you asked.

Yes, there are Rom BOffs on the exchange. They are rather expensive, though. Fed aligned Romulans can use Fed BOffs, KDF ones can use KDF BOffs. Yes, there is a filter, type ROMULAN (or REMAN) in the search box on the exchange.

Romulan boffs used to be pricey because the only reliable way of getting them (a doff assignment) was broken. I don't know if it is still the case, but if it is, that's probably the reason. Also, they have a very useful space trait, this makes them more sought after (thus even more pricey).

The doff assignment comes and goes. They fix it, I'll see it a few times, then it breaks again. Haven't seen one in months, which isn't unusual as even when it is working it is really rare.

Romulan captains can use Romulan Boffs and those from their allied faction. KDF and Fed can only get a few Romulan boffs through their embassy console on New Romulus.

Expect to pay 20mil EC for 1 with the superior operative trait.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

Just to clarify.. if you just want a Boff who's a Romulan, that will not be expensive. You can get Romulan Boffs just as cheap as any other BoFF.

Now, if you want one with Superior Romulan Operative, that's when you get into the 18-20M Range. If you just want a Romulan, you can pick that up cheap. Just search 'Romulan Tactical Officer' or whatever profession you need.

To add to this you *can* get lucky with Romulan Boffs on the exchange. Players who know about it will list boffs with Superior Romulan Operative on the exchange for the prices mentioned above cause they know SRO is a valuable trait. BUT there are some new players our there who dont know about SRO, who dont know that it is a valuable trait and will list their SRO without even looking at other boffs. I've bought a handful of SRO boffs for 1000 credits or 10-30k. You just have to be willing to go through all the entries and check the traits.

    Also @ OP,

If you are a Romulan Captain and you want Romulan boffs then just put in the search Filter Romulan Engineer, Romulan Tactical or Romulan Science. It will show all Romulan boffs whether they were listed by a Fed player or KDF player. Last time i checked you could also as a Fed Rom captain buy a KDF Rom boff listed by a KDF player and have that boff on your crew. Their uniform options will be messed up though...at least it was last time I payed attention to any of that stuff.

If as a Fed Romulan captain you want regular federation species boffs just search for them by race and spec. Bolian Tactical, Human Engineer, Vulcan Science and so on. You can do this for Fed Klingon Tac/Eng/Sci boffs too but you will also get results for KDF boffs and will have to sort through all the entries.

    I envy your luck! :)

I have tried this before, still haven't gotten lucky on it yet, but I know people that have done as you have and bought SRO BoFF's dirt cheap. Maybe one day I'll get one, we'll see. ;)

Hrmph... Maybe it's because I've always turned the rarity filter to VR, but VR Romulan BOffs are nowhere near as cheap as Fed or KDF BOffs. I can pick up non-Rom VR BOffs for under 1k, while I can't find VR Rom BOffs for under 1 mil, even without the SRO trait.
