What do you think of the idea of submitting player-made NPCs as official stock NPCs?

    One thing I forgot to mention on the podcast is that, in addition to revamping "Valley of the Shadow II", I have also (finally!) made a KDF-allied port of that mission. (It's still in review purgatory.)

    This episode was chock full of goodness as usual. Your topic about mission played from different kdf races perspectives reminded me of an idea I had of doing a series of missions that branched between federation, Romulan and kdf. As it stands if I do sequel to a time to search it will likely be Romulan. I also am playing with the idea of having puzzles in my latest mission that can only be solved after the first play through, that way a second play through is rewarded with added content. Do we want user created npcs in the foundry? Hell yeah! Know what we want more? Costume import to return. Perhaps they should at least restore costume export so we can share our costumes with the Devs. Enjoyed the episode and was eager to you guys return.

    Indeed, I'm definitely for it too. Not the least of which because (insert flagrant self-promotion here) but because it would give some pretty neat contact options that we don't really have with the stock NPC's. I've been able to do something with one of the stock aliens for a few mission granting dialogs (who I've dubbed Lt. G'mak'ti) but for someone else they may be able to do more, more easily, in comparable situations if they have, say, an established Captain Ross to play around with.

    Count me in favor of player-made stock NPCs too. As mentioned in the podcast, I'd be willing to submit Admiral Zashek, and maybe Admiral Youngs and Black Snow as well.

    Well as mentioned above I'm looking at submitting Captain Ross (who should be a pretty versatile/interesting Starfleet Security contact) if this idea ever gets off the ground. I'm probably not looking at Itrex, Bailey, Graves, or Ji'Goro because there is a point of diminishing returns on the SSF team (one adds something new, two kind of get about doing the same thing with some variation, three even more so. If people want them I'd be happy to throw them out there but I personally don't think they should be a priority). The last two also have complicated backstories which wouldn't do for general use NPC's.

    That leaves all the supporting characters and for that I'd be willing to submit Haasra (the Jar Jar Binks/CMOT Dibbler of SSF, good stock alien for crowd scenes at least), Keiken (Ibi planetary security coordinator, good stock alien for diplomatic scenes at least), and maybe a generic version of the villain from Polarity. I've also got a veritable grab bag here of background NPC's if we want a popcorn mix of foundry characters (ex. Lt. Erok: troubled officer at start of Entropy, Ibi bartender who's suspiciously keen, the old/grumpy Styiat who can't tell difference between RR/FED) so let's just say the limit here is whatever Zero/cryptic specifies. :P
