Tellarite Cruiser

In the event that a ship from the unsung member of the Federations founding species is considered, if it comes in threes like some recent ships, it should be like this:

The Cruiser should have a crew section that is wider, and with detachable unmanned craft instead of weapon arrays on the sides.

The Science vessel should have a longer crew section with subspace telescope bits, or storage sections, or enhanced sensor arrays.

The Tactical escort would have a normal sized and shaped crew section with customizable weapon arrays(small, medium, large), while the drive section would be taller than that of the other two.

We can also tie it to the temporal cold war, some faction interfered with the sensor net Archer organized against the Romulan drone by doing something to the lead Tellarite vessel, and some agent sends us back then to stop them.

Another cruiser? Hasn't every possible cruiser layout been flogged to death already?

Pretty much, especially on the fed side.

Just look at the T6 gal & excel, the reason why cryptic won't change the excel's superflous ensign to a universal (like they did on the hestia) is because that would make it the exact same boff layout as the gal, even with the spec seat in same place.

While they could come up with some more creative layouts I sincerely doubt they will, especially since they absolutely love to slap the subpar command spec on pretty much everything.

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't...they put a Intel slot on the Jupiter and people complain it isn't Command...they put a Command slot on the Rezreth and people complain it wasn't Intel (even though the Sarr Theln has Intel) SO what are they supposed to do?

If not their ships, then atleast the Tellarites themselves should get some attention in this game, limb and digit changes, facial hair styles, capitol city zone, and so on.

That's probably because the one place Command would have helped, they didn't. The Jupiter, as a lumbering carrier-whale with a decidedly non-DPS slant, doesn't derive as much benefit from Intel as a more agile proper science ship or a DPS-boat would. It would have actually benefitted from Command.

Because the Rezreth is a fast and agile beast?

About the Tellarite ship(s) again, should its bridge be modeled after Mission Control, where it looks all office like, a row of consoles inbetween the captains chair and the viewscreen?

    It's still up there: http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/comment/12701983 pig-1.gif

EDIT: Bridge design wise, I'm currently playing with the idea of a "round table" design with the Captain's chair in the center and all stations are placed in a circle around it and the captain can swivel around and adress each station this way. Alternate design would be a "long table" like a norse festival hall with the captain being on the head of the table looking on all the work stations in front of her.

@angrytarg 'her'? I don't think female Tellarites are canon, not unless they resemble Middle Earth Dwarves.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

@artan42 I'm just messing up your patriarchic world view, that's all pig-47.gif

Seriously though, while it is true there were non shown I find it highly dubious to assume that none exist. Nobody ever said Tellarites would just jump out of ground holes, are cloned or as you said, maybe they don't look much different from the males. STOs female Tellarites are awful and I only have a few on my crews out of principle. I'd picture a female tellarite indeed with bristle beards and generally a bit more hair than the average human would consider "attractive" but I'd also picture them with manes and mohawks. The males have the epic beards and rather light head hair, females would in my mind have lighter "beards" but more impressive head hair (like bristlebacks, maybe).

I would't say none exist, just that they seem to be absent from both diplomatic teams and military service in both ENT and TOS. Suggesting to me, either a Dwarven style situation where their numbers are so low they stay on the homeworld for safety or else they have a Dwarven situation (sense the theme here :D ) whereby they look the same.

I didn't suggest they are cloned or emerge from holes, that's a common joke in TLotRs and is true of certain orcs but not for the Dwarves.

Well, given we only saw like six Tellarites in all of canon anyway I'd say it might just be an unlucky draw pig-2.gif Since they are Dwarves but with a porcine evolutionary background I like to headcanon everything with some porcine inspiration. And pigs happen to be matriarchical organized on a social level. Maybe they don't like to fight and send their guys to the frontlines? pig-26.gif Nah, I just assume roughly even numbers and blame just lazy/unwilling/uncreative costume designers for the lack of sows pig-42.gif

They had no problem creating them...but gave the shaft to Nausicaans and Letheans...makes me sad...I mean come on...what could be fugglier than a Tellarite or Pakled females! :p
