PvP winter race bugged (again)?

Today I did the race and got a second price. I never saw the guy taking the first flag. I was first at the first corner and first or second at the last corner. Going to the finish platform I saw the second place flag. The person that was with me at the last corner was behind me.

It would be nice if we could get a scoreboard after the race.

    I dunno, I ran it last night, and at the start line a guy was saying he'd be waiting for us at the finish line. I thought he was full of TRIBBLE. But as I rounded the last bend, there he was, jumping up and down at the flag. It isn't like I was the back of the pack, either, I was a contender for second, but he didn't grab the 1st place flag, he walked away and let me and the next guy try for it. In the confusion, I didn't place at all.

    If he had time for all that, someone could easily grab the flag and be gone before you noticed if they were as fast as he was...

    He may have taken a short cut, but was disqualified. Perhaps he tought he could use the old trick still. Well, We have plenty of days to find out if there are some smart guys.

    indeed, that's probably why he didn't take the flag.
    he was just winding you up for the heck of it.

    When I think about everything we've been through together,

    maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

     and if that journey takes a little longer,

    so we can do something we all believe in,

     I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

    THERE IS A GLITCH though. I get to the starting block in time to join the race, but it doesn't register me as joining. I can click "join" over and over and over, but it doesn't actually register me in the race, and even if i race inside the boundaries (or walk it) i can't pick up any tags.

    Check to see if your inventory is full first. apparently joining the race gives you a ghost token.

    Actually, the confusion I mentioned? He walked away from the first place flag to grab the 2nd place one. The other guy got first, and by the time I sorted out what the heck was going on, someone else had 3rd. For the second run, Mr Speedy (not his real name) teamed up with me and the guy who got first, the team shared bonuses we ended up with were pretty nice...
