I think Christmas and summer event Currency should expire too.

those currency like decors, candles and incese should expire or disappear after event.
otherwise, many of us doesn't even need to play these event anymore. your event items are now cheap.
I pretty much bought all these TRIBBLE the moment the event start cause I have too many of these currency since last year.
and this year Im too lazy to join and play the game. and I still have too many currency left. the jackets looks cool but
the skills and melee weapons are pathetic. I only enjoying the cyro grenade and the cyro thermo whatever...from last year.
the rest of the TRIBBLE are meh... they are totally weak.

other items are only usable during the event. which I wont be using much cause just as I said I still got too many of these
since last year.

Just make all these currency expire or sell us something consumable that are REALLY POWERFUL or TOO AWESOME to bypass.
(you cryptic devs and designers should come down playing in the event with us. so you will understand.)

They do play the events, so they do know. Just because you had bought all the trinkets etc, it's no reason to go flaming the forums in rage!

you can always trade in your trinkets for gold pressed latinum, ok its not the best currency to have but its better then carrying a load of junk you don't want.
go to the pedestal near the epohh lady to trade your winter trinkets.

alternatively you could just discard them yourself if they bother you that much.

Right. We do not „need“ to play these events anymore, we „can“ play them if we want to.

While “need” leads to grind “can” leads to fun.

If a game is fun, peeps tend to play it.

Your suggestion is the worst I have seen in a while in this forum. Gratz for that, this is not at all easy to achieve.

I agree, I don't even need to play the snowball fights and such as I have all the stuff I want from the winter store but that hasn't stopped me from playing them just because I want to and its fun.

that reminds me, my mum used to say to me "you don't know what good clean fun is bobby!" and you know she was right, I don't know what good it is.

So long as they have a turn in option, whatever.
    I don't care.
Ornaments are very easy to harvest in any case.
The doff assignments alone at ESD, Academy, and Q's WW will have you swimming in ornaments if you run them daily for a few weeks.

hey! I worked hard in last years winter event to not have to work hard in this years winter event. Don't force me to do things I don't want to. This year i'm taking it easy and only doing the ship race since i saved so many mats from last year. Once and awhile I may join in some events, but only because I want to.. not because I have to.

The big difference with the decorations is all the things they purchase are the same price for each character that purchases them and every character that you want to have that item has to purchase it, the items aren't account unlocks, or even account bound, unlike the ships that become account unlocks after being sold at a deep discount after purchasing one at full price.

Ha I like this response. Seriously theres nothing wrong with how the items work right now... although it would be great if we could get seperate inventory tabs for pets and event items.

Lol now that's a fine logical answer there.

Personally I toss them in one of my toon's bank and leave them there for next year. Not that I really need to because I end up accumulating loads anyway, but its still convenient on the first few days with a new toon I didn't have last year.

Buy up a bunch of coats and things, hang on to them for a month after the event ends, put them on the exchange and make a ton-load of EC!

Problem solved, and you earned a valuable (well, until the exchange limit hits holodeck) monetary resource...

No. Leave my favors and trinkets alone. I don't earn that many to begin with.

Also, consider that for the winter event you need a specific number of each type of trinket to buy anything out of the winter store. But you have no control over how many of each you earn over time. If they expired every year, you'd potentially lose your progress toward buying the item you want.

It's also good to note that aside from costume options, more than half of the things you can buy in the winter store are only usable in the winter event itself. They don't have a strong reason to restrict that.

No, no, no. Don't buy up bunches of anything yet if you plan on reselling. Sit on the trinkets, they take up a total of 6 inventory slots per stack of... (-i²*5²*10¹?). When it comes time to sell, you might find it better to just sell the trinkets. Or, if you bought a bunch of long Rustler jackets, but they are selling for cheap while there's apparently been as run on Romulan scarves, you'll be stuck. I don't think they stack, anyways, so space wise, my initial statement stands true(est). Even if they do stack, if you diversify your purchases, you'll take up more space than just sitting on trinkets.

You get the idea, trinkets take less space and are more flexible than buying extra stuff now.

    Berg,
I do believe they stack up to 999, in case you're wondering.
I started this years event with about 350-400 of each ornament.
So good news for people with limited inventory space.

Ah, yes. You are right about 999. If I change it in my post, it'll make you look a little nuts though, and if anyone wants to pin any plans on a number I put a question mark next to, well that's on them, right?

But yeah, 999 means my point is 4 times more valid than I thought it was. ;) That is, you can store 4 times as much junk in those 6 slots as I initially thought.

    Edit:
Ah, what the heck, I'm changing the number in my post above, just because...

There, you are correct, you can stack 10³+i² of each bauble.

The winter items in the event reputation store stay unlocked all year. So if you have extra trinkets and want to create a character in between events you can buy winter jackets, scarves, knit caps, and non-combat pets for them. Pretty much everything else is character bound. The items in the event store are unlocked per character so characters created outside the event won't have access to it.

So the items can still have a use year round.

The most important thing is the winter commodities are tradeable. If they expire would that just delete everything from the exchange, causing mass confusion and outrage? Even if it didn't remove anything from the exchange, players who purchased them in the off season won't be able to use them, so you'd still wind up with unhappy players.

Some players may save them up to buy the tradeable items like hats, scarves, jackets, and pets all year to sell in the exchange, and others may buy the ornaments from the exchange to get something they weren't able to get during the event for whatever reason.

Bad idea. If the OP doesn't like them, they really should just delete them at the beginning of the each event. :p

You can also turn them in for fleet marks, if your fleet or a fleet in your armada is running the special starbase decoration event.

Sounds like someone is very jelly.

In any case, you have your answer: Delete them from inventory after the event, if that is what you want.

I'd love to see all activities in an event realm give varying degrees of the same currency and then allow people to spend as they choose. If they want to use 10 vouchers for a fancy pistol that's event use only go for it. If they want to save them and use 1000 for a ship and get a few extras then cool!

I know I'd spend a lot more time in the game if I could get a daily reward from completing things other than a race and get more vouchers in addition to the aforementioned race winnings.

As it stands they get everyone to log in for 5 min a day for max of 25 days meaning about 2 hours of total game time OR get people to log in for 14 days at 1 hr per day to hit all the events for a total time of 14+ hours (not including inevitable socializing etc)...
