Tier 5-U C-Store idea

sabettesabette Member Posts: 0 Arc User
So I love my D'Kora and I don't want to have to give it up because they have never released a newer version. My question is how hard would it be to offer one or more of the following in the c store:

1. Replacement Bridge Officer stations, replace an existing bridge officer station with a hybrid (command/pilot/intel) station, would be a 1 for 1 swap so a commander Engineering would become a commander Engineering/intel, etc.

2. Add ons for Tier 5U ships only. This one may take more work, but basically would allow to add one or more of the following and for balance would probably need a limit as to what options were allowed based off ship class (carrier, science, escort, etc). The add-ons could be an additional console slot, additional fore or rear weapon slot, additional bridge officer console (universal).

These options would allow for people to still use the Tier 5-U ships and still experience some of the new features like hybrid bridge officers. To clarify, I own several Tier 6 ships I just prefer my D'Kora. I understand that tier 6 ships are part of the overall revenue generation, this would just add an alternative way to generate money and let players continue using the ships that they may have spent years with.

Again just my thoughts

    1. sounds good but the second suggestion...

You want a 12 console ship with 10 weapons or something?

Fleet/T5U is already on par with Fleet/T6 in terms of console slots and adding more wepaons to T5U ships is just crazy.

If the consoles and weapon slots are equal already then ok... since my T6 and t5u ships aren't the same class, maybe the allocation of the weapon and consoles made it seemed like the T6 had more. As i was asking it be balanced based off class if they are already equal then I guess that's a non-issue.

Tier 5u only ranks up to mastery level 4.
Tier 6 Mastery lvl 5 + special abilities

    5u 19-10 consoles
    6 10-11 consoles

    5u no hybrid crew
    6 many hybrid varieties

5u lower hp, weapon damage, crew strength
    6 superior in every way.

I bought a tier 5u ship before i learned the cryptic pay to win system. I paid 2500zen plus 500zen for the upgrade.
This is the same price as tier 6 ships. An honest company would give equal value for equal price and not trick newer players into buying ships that have no competitive viability now.

At least offer a T6 refit token. Then add 1 mastery slot, 1 hybrid crewman, and 1 console. Add some HP and a special power, then the ships will be leveled out.

This will also incentivize people to buy all types of ships instead of everyone having the same ship each time a ship is released.

*SIGH* T5U's are comparable in HP, DPS consoles etc. If you have a C-Store T5U, it has the same amount of consoles, HP, etc as a C-Store T6. T6 may have access to more choice of specialized abilities, but the thing is, you don't need them. As I said in another post, Lobi T5U have more consoles than a C-Store T6. AT the end of the day, it simply doesn't make much difference. There's no 'Quantum Leap' between T5U and T6 at all, all this complaining is nit-picking.

And BTW, I have access to over 40 ships (my admiralty count is 73) that are T5, T5U, T6 and their Fleet Versions, so I DO know the differences!!!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

there is no difference in console slots. And adding those „addons ” would make t5u stronger than t6.

    Tier:5
    Upgrade cost:Requires an Upgrade Token
    Type:Dreadnought Cruiser
    Admiralty stats:
    Hull (T5-U):46,000
    Shield Modifier:1
    Weapons:Fore 4 Aft 4
    Can equip dual cannons.
    Hangar Bays:1
    Crew:1,000

    +5 all power levels
    Cost:2,500Zen
    Abilities:

The T6 ship is MASSIVELY more powerful. Way more HP, better stats in all cases. Better crew, better mastery, 2 additional consoles, and even more bridge officers and crew.

Despite the cost being the same, these two ships are not even close to the same league. T5U is much weaker than T6.

The T5U hp listed are the hullpoints at Vice Admiral 50, the hull points scale with level up to 60 to 53,333. <== but that is a Galaxy-x T5U you should be comparing the Breen Dread to a T6 Dread, but there are problems with that.
Only a fool would compare an Event Ship to a C-store T5U or even a C-store T6. Event ships are superior to C-store ships, comparable in many ways to Lockbox/Lobi ships, which are Superior.

Oh come on now Docon... "No competitive viability"

I can understand you may be frustrated, but there is no need to over exaggerate
A T5U can take on any content a T6 can. I know because I've done it, and still fly T5U's from time to time.
If fact, in some cases, they do better then some T6 ships. Not many, but there is a precedent for it. (Schimtar)

Anyway point being, T5U is still very serviceable.
