winter event review

- lack of contents or the cd are too long.
- huge lag in "winter invasion"
- "cones of conduct" is cool, but it takes too much time to fill the need of syrup, and after a moment, even if the players still give syrup to the snowconian, the syrup has no effect; and the needle does not move.
- the wooden floor was really better
- less doff missions than in the previous winter events (unavailable when we are at new romulus, for example)
- edited (it was about the present in winter invasion)
- bugs with some recipes, the egg is missing
- lack of new stuff in the store (I mean interesting stuff, useable after the event)
- too many fights ("cones of conduct", "tide on ice", "winter invasion"), where is the spirit of christmas? a snowman contest would have been very cool, like the the sandcastle contest on Risa.

- the new weapons (camarel something etc) are really nice (textures and models)
- the new village is really nice too (textures and models)
btw, I was not interested by the event, but my choice was the event or again the same stfs for the hundredth time. I tried to be honest; no whining here, only what I saw and experienced.

In terms of the Q Winter Wonderland event....sorry but its utter garbage. Too much grind (I dont mind elements of grind, i play several online games and am familiar with the concept), but the actual content of the event makes the grind too much. The event is boring, un star trek like and just not for me.
That said, there will be lots of people who have to have the ship no matter what and will do it....just there is nothing for me in it and nothing that will encourage anything additional from me,,,actually a bit of the opposite...may actually cause me to play less over december...not what the designers want/intend i think.
The eggs are still there. Under a pile of snow. When they build the ramp leading to the new gingerbread village they forgot to relocate the spawning point of the eggs.
Agreed. Something like that would have been a nice, peaceful addition.
- I would add that I wish they had changed the way the competitive race works. It should register players going over the finish line automatically instead of having to grab those flags. It's quite annoying to be the first but because of a lag at the worst possible moment you miss the flag and end up 4th.
- as was suggested in another thread the caramel assault should fire sticky puddles instead of exploding caramel bombs.
- the queue is way too easy. I mean the 'winter overlord' usually dies after 5 seconds. This can't be right.
Also the flag thing from the race is still utter nonsense and is really annoying a lot of people in my fleet. We know you can run a race with a normal finishing line because that's what the daily race is, so just extend the coding to the PVP one as well.
It makes a mockery of actually trying hard as at the finish line it all come down to who has the least sever lag or mashes the keyboard most.
There are 3 new kit modules in the store (1 tac, 1 eng, 1 sci). I think they are quite interesting, especially the tac one.
yes, I know but cryotonic modulation seems really meh; the mines and the other eng kit module, same thing. however, they can be interesting for those who can't buy the expensive mines and bomb in the exchange or from the fleet store.
Personally I'm tired to have only, stuff to fight things; they could try to create something different.
I'm going to try this boff skill with my tac fed who has a cruiser to see if it worths more grind for my other toons.
Actually they didnt say you get it all of your characters, they said you can unlock it on any of your characters regardless of which one has earned the point.
I dont know for definite but i would think there is a potential for a big loophole there....theres a difference between unlocking it on any character and unlimited account wide access.
While I can agree that a new version of building stuff would be nice.... I like the new stuff.... although I wished the new event didn't drop so many quest items that don't stack.... (each shaved ice is a separate inventory slot)
If they were going to change the PvP race they'd have probably done it by now.
My character Tsin'xing
works the same as the summer event once you have completed the reputation event ship unlock on one character it is unlocked for all characters on your account, this is a permanent account unlock so you can discharge and reclaim the ship as often as you like on as many characters you have on that account, it is also there for any future characters you might create.
it is truly unlimited account wide access.
no problems with the zone as such, its makes a nice break from the normal gameplay and gets you in the spirit for the winter festivities.
I am finding it a bit tricky to do the fastest game on ice race for the ship, got a different laptop and the keys aren't as responsive as my old laptop or maybe its just that I'm out of practice but I am managing after a few goes to get a win, then again it would not be as much fun if it was too easy.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
New map:
Took me a few to find where stuff got moved to. The pie eating area, etc. They moved it to the new gingerbread village. Love the new map.
Event:
Basically the same. I did the new Cones of Conduct. I thought it was a fun new one. Kinda tricky to figure out what to do at first. After that it wasn't too bad. Already working on the race daily for the Breen ship. Give it a couple more times and I will be back up to my speed again.
Vendor:
I went after some of the older items and some new items for my characters to use. These are the kit modules so I can keep on using them. To me these are the best buys. Where the others are just for the event. So I don't go for them. I didn't see anything to add to my outfits so I won't be buying those. I was wanting more hats scarves, etc. I had enough of the jackets.
Tights:
This was nice, nothing to keep your character warm in the winter with leggings. Specially while she is wearing a skirt. Hope this option stays.
Build a snowman:
We need this so we can build snow stuff just like the summer event with the sand. I don't want to "kill" all the time. So this event would be nice to see added. Other than stuffing my face with pie.
