Ok so I took a break from STO a few months ago, the reason being that after making it about halfway through the Delta Quadrant episodes and hitting a level wall where the amount of points needed for the next level (57) was so vast it was going to take forever to unlock the next episode in the chain so I just got fed up with it. No big deal, this happens with games.
Skip forward to now. I decide to come back and see what's happening with good old STO lately, and maybe get back into things...
Logging back in for the first time and still after all this time my character's shape on the character screen is different to the one I set in game. I edited my admiral to be larger in shape and lighter hair, the character screen still shows him with darker hair and skinny body.
I sigh, thinking this isn't a good omen, and click 'play'.
I find that now the remaining episodes in DQ are all available to me at level 56. Woohoo. So I start from DQ episode 1, the mind meld with Tuvok, to reacquaint myself with the story.
First cut scene that shows my character and the body shape is different again. Different from the log in character screen, and different to what I set in game too, pretty much in between the two!
I sigh, thinking this isn't a good omen either, but move on with the episode.
I get as far as the first encounter with Species 8472, where you fight them with Seven of Nine at your side, I get killed and have to respawn... it respawns me back in Tuvok's ready room, not inside the mind meld, the mission objectives still there in the side panel but no way to carry on with the episode where I left off.
I sigh, thinking those previously mentioned omens proved correct, and exit the game.
My question is this: Is it worth me persevering, playing on regardless, or am I going to be suffering with this kind of shenanigans throughout the rest of the Delta Quadrant missions, and on through The Iconion War too?

With that and the respawn issue, it doesn't bode well if I'm going to have to open support tickets and make bug reports the minute I return.
I've never had such problems with other mmos I've played, I just don't understand why STO is seemingly so riddled with problems.
I'd try going to the tailor, maybe click the character portrait and select a new costume. They might have added changes to the character editor in between you playing last, that are effecting your character.
If your aim is to only play the story missions I'd say sure why not, use admiralty timegates to get to 60 and then go play STO whenever there is a new story mission.
