Whoa! What's going on with STF's?

Just like to know.

What's with the HUGE buff to npc's in STF's?? Particularly the Borg STF's. Seriously, it's way over tuned now. XIV, 21k shields and in 2 hits all my shields are gone now? WTF!!! That's a bit excessive don't you think? And I'm not even talking about advanced or elite either!!! In fact, what have you guys done to the AI too? One sphere 2 hits my shields and they're gone, I scramble to get something back up to any extent I can, and what's this? I now have 3 sphere's coming after me even though I never hit either of the other 2? Oh and of course they spam the shield drain every 2 seconds. And that's not including that the sphere's can chase me around while I'm cloaked. Even if I'm on the other side of the map and cloaked, they will rush over and start attacking me again. Which is kinda funny because I used to be able to get within 10km of them and they had no clue I was there.

Seriously guys. What are you guys trying to do? People weren't doing the elites because they were too hard and/or you practically needed all top level ships and gear to even have a chance. People geared for Advanced level weren't doing them because the reward didn't fit the difficulty level and was a worse option for farming. So the people geared for Advanced were schlepping it in the normal queues where they could 1 shot everything. But, and I really hope this was a goof on someone's part, to fix this, you guys just make all the stf's even harder? Umm, huh?

Are you guys trying to put in a "gating system" to slow down players? OR, are you guys just preparing the stf's now before you change them to be all level 60 only? Kinda like how you guys did with normal stf's being level 50+ only when before you used to be able to start doing them at level 44. Or, are you guys just really mean people and laugh when we get our collective warp cores handed to us by what used to be a fairly easy fight? Or, did you guys listen to the "this is too easy" folks who, with all XIV gear were going into normal mode stf's so they can one shot things, when they're really geared for the advanced and elite queue. I mean that's like listening to someone who has been driving a corvette in a go-kart race and complaining about the competition being weak.

Seriously guys, what's going on. >:)

    Tip for the Borg. They use a very amped up version of Tachyon Beam. Investing in power insulators helps a bit.

    I did. Didn't help much, if at all. Even with transfer shield strength, EP2S, and science team, I couldn't keep them up. Hense why I came here to ask WTF!!!

    Sounds like you aggro'd the NPC mobs in a pug, while the other players on your team probably just about miss the AFK penalty.

    Basically, don't pug, though I'm aware that's not an option for some.

    There's no real way to resist Borg spheres if you've got 2 or more draining your shields, you just have to be smart about it.

    Once you get that down, the Borg advanced STF's are mindlessly easy.

    invest in hull plating when fighting borg... i just play as if my shields dont exist.... that or use the valdore console/

    I fly cruisers built for tanking, I concur with that assessment about playing it like you have no shields

      Again and again changes are pushing people to zooming around at full throttle and FAW spamming; Meanwhile they sell dreadnaught flying barges, since the Eclipse they have released at least 5 slower heavy FED cruisers( can't keep track of Galaxy variants) and the Arbiter, whereas the game fits the Eclipse better than the other heavy fed ships. So everyone with a cruiser fits extra turn and spiffy engines, enabling their 600m long 1000 crew ships to whizz around like a nandi, which they got for free and stopped playing months ago. That aside, boosting borg firepower should prompt people into fitting armour rather than purely DPS consoles.

      Yeah you have to question the thinking of some people who expect to fly round spamming BFAW like it's going out of fashion and aggro the whole map then complain if they get shot to pieces.

      I mean maybe if they coordinated their attacks better than just "mash space bar" they'd find their game much improved.
      Having a million DPS is no use if half of it falls on invulnerable targets and if you can't survive any of the aggro you draw.
      The Borg are tricky but you just gotta be ready to have no shields and bug out when it really hits the fan. You kick the hornets nest you better be ready to take a few stings.

      So it's okay for players to be able to 1 shot the enemy, and not the other way round? Anyway, DPS rebalance is seriously needed now.

      Tachyon Beam is what's going on.

      Basically, in STF's, assume you'll have no shields. Captain Best-Way.​​

      Borg STF's are yawn easy. Even at Level 50 with 'just hit 50' gear, they are easy.

      Normal is blind monkey with no hands easy
      Advanced is don't do the bad things easy
      Elite is achieve minimum required DPS to kill things within time limits, and then easy.

      STO is easy, even when they change things and add new maps, provided you actually know how your ship works and didn't just copy/paste a build, put stuff on row 7, and start mashing spacebars.

      I like what they've started to do with the AI and they need to do MUCH MUCH more of it - allowing them to use the same BOff abilities that we do. They tried to do it a while back, but people cried that infected took 30 seconds longer to complete because the Spheres, not the nanite Spheres mind, but the regular Spheres used EPTE III. Most fun I ever had those brief couple of weeks.

      My dream is to see the Borg using FBP II buffed by 450 Part Gens, ApA, ApB and GDF in Infected.
