Bonus Dil event AND Mirror Event at the same time? The Dil exchange rates are going to go through the roof.
Unless there is a looming bait-and-switch punchline where it is revealed that the Mirror Event rewards are excluded from the dilithium bonus. They pulled that BS with the reputation rewards.
I think it's almost a given. That's how I think they do ALL Event/Rep rewards now.

Keep in mind some players have partial projects started from last time this event ran and may be able to finish the old project during the bonus dil weekend. Others may have a bunch of leftover Multidimensional Transporters from previous events to nearly or completely fill the new project right away. Which means at least a few players will be able to get the 50k before the weekend is over.
It doesn't matter anyway since dilithium from reputation projects, including events, do not qualify during bonus dil events. So whether you get it now or after the weekend you'll only get 50k dil.
I don't expect the dil exchange to skyrocket from this event. The last Crystalline Entity event didn't cause it to go up that fast or really that much. For now the exchange is pretty stable and goes up and down slowly, based on my observations. It has gone up a little recently but that's because of the recent key sale and then the announcement of the T6 Defiant/B'rel/T'varo.
I don't know if I can bring myself to do this event on all 15 characters. The last time it ran I had 12 toons and only did it on 1 to get the shotgun reward. As much as I wanted the 50k dil for each toon, I just couldn't bring myself to it because it's time consuming. I did manage to do the last CE event on all 15 and I'm glad I did because that crystalline spike kit module is awesome. This rifle? Meh.
I too hope that they make it like the summer and winter event where you can run it on one toon on your account then get it at a discount for your other toons.

Yep. If the Varon-T was illegal for being a torture device, then I think this one would fall into the same category.
P.S.: The computer did just get sent in to the shop, so it's a moot point for me as I will not be able to complete the event in time unless I end up finding a toon that has a MU Event from a previous year (with a different reward!) well underway, when the computer comes back.

Yep. If the Varon-T was illegal for being a torture device, then I think this one would fall into the same category.

Varon-T wasn't a torture device merely cruel and utterly impractical. Seriously... why disintegrate someone at that speed? It's a very painful death, but utterly pointless. You don't have time to interrogate them and there are faster methods of killing people.
This however seems more like an extra-painful stun beam.... It isn't necessarily fatal, so you can use it to capture/interrogate people.

I wish the rifle was made available in the Event Store after the event is over. Just make it so that you wouldn't be able to get the Dil and Mark bonus from it. Just the rifle. Fair enough for everyone; Cryptic will have gotten enough people to log in and play the event, while players who at least did the effort on one character but couldn't due to a lack of time could eventually benefit the rest of their characters at the end of the event.
There's a few alts I'd like to grab the rifle for, but my limited time does not permit me to just grind them all the way to 50.
I'm hoping Cryptic will seriously consider putting the weapon itself in the Event Store once the event is over, for those that at least did the work.

The Mirror Event is by Far the MOST alt unfriendly and Punishing Event of all the Events, i was hoping that they would change a few things since the last time it took place, but looks like a nope.
Pretty much that. I can understand that they want you to grind for the Dil but some event store for the special rewards would be cool.
No idea yet how much I participate in the mirror event this time. Last year it was cool because the rest of the queues became a ghost-town after DR. Now there is much more fun stuff to do in game besides playing mirror with 9 characters 14 times.

Hmm... 50k dilithium... I may have to run this on multiple characters... Also slightly disappointed that the rifle is just a reskinned Relativity rifle...
I'm collecting weapons so don't mind. Waiting for the rifle stats since shield penetrating damage seems to have become the standard I'd be interesting to see how the devs transformed this into an agony rifle. Stun with shield penetrating DoT perhaps?
This is also a good chance to fill out the terran marks. While i like the new stf and battlezone i really don't want to repeat the same content on all my characters for the next few months.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I would really like to have it on all of my toons.

Probably fair to assume that the newer ships (mirror Command Cruisers for example) will be included, possibly the new Mirror (Temporal) Dreadnought at the 'boss stage'. But those are only assumptions.
As for other changes - who knows?
Well I noticed in the BZ that mirror!Nebulas are now what spams TBR almost constantly. And yeah, they do have command cruisers(guess what they don't have? )

I'm hoping they finally do what they said they would and actually begin making Event rewards go into the Event shop, even if it's only after the event is over. I don't mind if they only start now, and begin doing old FE events to allow unlocking of things like the Shard of Possibilities or the Orphidian Cane as well.
Compared to major events, I don't see how they couldn't just add a simple single-event item shop to the Event Store that would allow purchase of the Rifle itself on other alts, assuming they eventually hit 50.
The excuse of not doing so because the box also rewards Dil and Marks is not going to fly; despite them saying so for the Crystalline Event and the Crystalline Torpedo. They were able to grandfather the rewards of players who owned the original Dyson ship into the Event Store, and have proven that they do have a means of checking conditions then unlocking the item in the Event shop, so there's flatly no excuse as to why they cannot do the same here short of laziness.
I hate to say it, but rather than encouraging me to grind more, the more they try to restrict event items rather than put them into the store they made for such items only makes me want to spend more time in other games that allow other means of obtaining the event item for alts, even if it means repeatedly grinding the same event mission on a high level to pass the weapon/equipment/item down to a lower level via an account or mail option. Heck, other games even let players claim the old rewards on a first turn-in then newer rewards on a second turn-in, if they want. Those games that permit such encourage me to grind, as I have something I can work towards on my alts. You know, the actual carrot-and-stick method. Which STO seems to flip-flop on. They do it for limited-time-never-to-return ships, but they don't for other limited-time-never-to-return event rewards.
Their Events like Mirror or Crystal would be so much more popular if we were permitted to run extra missions to unlock the older rewards. Say an extra 2-5 Multidimensional Transporters or Crystalline Fragments per old reward that we could slot in after completing the main reward. Combined with making them unlock in the Account-wide Event Store, far more players would be running, even if it's just one character a day for most of the event rather than just 14-15 days then chill until the next event.
But I'm not holding my breath. If they do actually do this, I'll be more than happy to attempt to grind the event from start to finish to unlock everything for my alts, and give more time towards working a few alts up to be able to use said rewards. I don't need the Dil or the Marks. Just the event reward unlocked for all characters would be enough. But alas, I have to remain realistic and expect the usual "TRIBBLE you; grind 14 marks on all characters! What? They can't grind for it? Then grind them up and then grind the event!"
Please could you confirm if the AFK system is going to actually work on the Mirror Event. It's seriously annoying when people AFK it and ruin the rewards for those that play it!

1 A 20hrs timer to know when it time for you to redo the mission to get the daily reward.
2 A longer period to do the event and so that Cryptic doesn't feel like it cheated by adding a longer periode; add a maximum limit of Multidimensional Transporters each char can earn during this periode.

They didn't change anything other than the color scheme of the ships. It's still time gated. Admittedly, the exp gains are nice for ship masteries, and the map is fun, but I can't run this on all my characters.
I just enter a normal and we were only 3 . 2 players standing outside at loading screen waiting to enter at the end. without afk penalty it's getting worse and worse so i won't do it sadly
