Defiant Remodel

We are pleased to announce that concurrent with the launch of the Valiant Class Tactical Escort (T6), we will be releasing an update to Star Trek Online’s Defiant-class model as well.

Take a look at our new Defiant here!

    Well, it's certainly... colorful.
    Several folks around here will be very happy that you fixed the skin on this one TacoFang.
    They were just recently bemoaning the fact that parts of its skin looked "sloppy".
    Though I personally didn't think it was that big a deal.
    Thank You for Your time and effort on all the recent reskins.

    The Defiant is a “tough little ship” that helped win the Dominion War in the 2370s and Tactical Escorts have proved just as vital to the Iconian War of 2410.
    *chuckles*
    In the one cutscene we actually see Tactical Escorts other than the Defiant during the Iconian War, 4 of them get easily one-shot by M'Tara's flagship.

    Still, good to see another remodel of an iconic ship. It'd be nice to see the difference in the blog, though, for those who don't have a tacscort.

    I think this is actually the 2nd remodel. I wonder if the artists are slowly upgrading poly counts and texture resolution because the hardware players use is getting better, or if they are getting more time to get it right?

    @tacofangs did not do this remodel. @crypticttc (Thomas Marrone) did. And with this ship My feds (Sci - Pathfinder, Eng - Andromeda/Yamato, Tac - Defiant), will once again be flying hero ships! Thanks. And it looks fantastic! They all do.

    Heh, you made the Defiant look good. Almost good enough to tempt me into using it... But no, I've got the Hestia.

    Fear not, though, I'll get the Bundle for the KDF and ROM ships.
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    That looks really awesome. Now if only the Quad Cannons were a console/device that just changed the appearance of all your Dual Cannons to fire 4 shots instead of a weapon that has the visuals ruined the moment you add more weapons :/

    If you want the visuals to be the same, use Dual Cannons instead of Dual Heavy Cannons.

    Hmm, those screenshots don't cut it for me... I think an HD Excelsior Remodel would look better in the place of the Defiant in those pictures.

    Wont that just fire Dual Cannon shots between the Quad Cannon shots? It still wont look exactly right. It'll also ruin the sound effects.

    Awesome; though I would have expected the Valiant to have loaded Quantums, instead of Photons.

    This is good news. My Fed Tac, who I hadn't played in a while uses this ship. Along with the pulse phasers (Quad Cannons). I always loved using that ship when I was on that character. I will make good use of the new graphics.

    Will the B'rel model be getting an update as well? It needs one way, way WAY worse than the Defiant. It's pretty much the ship that needs it the most, so if you're doing a pack with both and chose to update the Defiant and ignore the Bird... well, ugh.
