Doff missions that reward R&D mats are gone

They're mostly all gone. Even the incredibly good doffing assignments in the Dsyon sphere are gone. Actually the Dyson Sphere pretty much has no assignments whatsoever in it. Even the trade ones.

cant say if this is a temporary glitch or permanent, still I have tons of R&D mats that I will probably never use anyway so meh.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Players were acquiring r&d materials to fast a rate, clearly an exploit. It's been remedied.

I noticed this too, all doff mat missions seem to have disappeared.

I guess the thinking is that they give us mats in the Admiralty missions and allowing both would be too much. An announcement saying so would have been nice.

Well, the mat market has crashed. I don't know if it's because of these missions or something else, but even Rhubidium is selling for 6 each. The others are far worse.

I'm hoping that's not why, especially since Admiralty is really only useful to people who spend a lot of money on ships.

The Admiralty system is not a valid method for most players to acquire RnD Mats. They need to restore these missions ASAP. If they don't want both systems rewarding, then they should award something else from Admiralty.

So far as I've noticed, the Admiralty System is pretty bad at giving mats. Some of the Bonus Events give Purple mats, but I haven't really noticed any missions that are a good source for common and uncommon.

    I agree.

There are a number of missions that are missing, not just RnD assignments. I don't think this is working as intended.

All we can do is hope they fix it soon.

    Yep I noticed this also.

Cryptic: "NO DOFFING FOR YOU ! YOU WILL USE THE ADMIRALTY SYSTEM, AND YOU WILL LOVE IT !"

That's how I felt going through my doffing alts last night.
So much for my material farming.

Used to be able to get 10 - 15 doff assignments (Trade+Mats) by just transferring from sector to system space. Then top of with assignments found on my ship bridge.

Last night I was lucky to get 5-8 assignments (from sector and system) before transferring to my ship bridge.

So these will be missed dearly if they do not intend to bring them back.
Which is probably the case, they wont return. :(

    I think it's WAI.
Would it have killed them to leave the doffing system as it was ? I mean, its not like it was super exploitable.
It took weeks to gather a fair amount of materials (blue quality) and that was with 3 doffing alts which ran once a day 20 missions. about 10 of which would be materials assignments.

Meh, not super impressed with this.

It's a bug and has been confirmed by a bug hunter. What's happening is a ton of assignments throughout the entire game are missing under 'Current Map'. http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/comment/12760343/#Comment_12760343

I was wondering why all the ongoing missions I had stacked up had disappeared when I logged in yesterday. Let's hope it's a bug and not intended.

Hopefully Trendy will pop by and give a head's up on if this is WAI (and a terrible idea) or just a bug and they'll fix it (hopefully) PDQ.

    Confirmed by dev comment:
We'll look into this, as soon as a few more pressing performance matters get settled. It definitely wasn't an intentional change.

Assignment Availability had to be rebuilt for Admiralty, and I suspect this is an unintentional fallout of that process.

There is a thread here where Bort has asked for people to post any other assignments that they find are missing.

Confirmed it was not intentional and is being looked into. :)

My 1st Admiralty System (AS) research mission paid off in 2 units of each of the VR (purple) R&D materials, so I'm not too worried about how to get them. Most Rares (blue) were obtained from PvE drops anyway, but I'm still getting some from the normal DOff science missions... :o
Expendables Fleet: Andrew - Bajoran Fed Engineer Ken'taura - Rom/Fed Scientist Gwyllim - Human Fed Delta Tac
Savik - Vulcan Fed Temporal Sci
    Dahar Masters Fleet: Alphal'Fa - Alien KDF Engineer Qun'pau - Rom/KDF Engineer D'nesh - Orion KDF Scientist Ghen'khan - Liberated KDF Tac

have you checked with your department heads screen? I've noticed that talking to them brings up a lot of assignments that do not show up in the personal and current map tabs. I'm also pretty sure that the doff missions for r&d mats are still there with the science and (I think) operations heads.

Nope. Go to the Dyson Sphere and you'll see how bad the problem gets.

I believe this is a bug and not intentional. Admiralty gives maybe around 20 times less than you can get by casual doffing. The blue and purple materials are however way more available now with the research lab and admiralty, along with a reduced demand. Green and white have gone up as they are desired for the research lab missions. However the main cause of the prices going down is the 999 trolls.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

I'll leave this here since obviously you didn't read @seaofsorrows post above
I can confirm that some Doff Assignments appear to be missing. I can also confirm that this was NOT an intentional change, and will be investigated.

Until we can nail this down, getting additional information on which specific Assignments appear to be missing may be helpful. So far, groups that are being reported as universally absent are:

    - "Scan" and "Analyze" assignments which yield R&D Materials
    - "Haggle" assignments for DS9 commodities

Please post here if you can confirm the definite absence of others (and not just low odds situations).

That's odd. I did read and I said I believe it's a bug. Other types of missions from current map especially diplomacy are also missing.

I quoted a dev in my post above who verified it is in fact a bug and you're still acting as though you're not sure about it. Here is the dev's post in the bug report thread. http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/comment/12761692#Comment_12761692

Please post in that thread any issues with missing doff assignments. If you got any ideas on what is going on or what might be happening Borticus could use all the info he can get.
