1.7 gig patch downloaded last night. hmmmm

Last night, 20th oct, i had a 1.7 gig patch downloading. Now that is too big for any ordinary patch. Logically it would have to be season 11 surely? If so,(yes I know wishful thinking) i would have thought it would be here earlier than 27th oct. hmmm strange. oh well we live in hope.

It's just a prepatch kind of thing I'm sure. which is cool, give it a good week for everyone to be ready for S11.

When Cryptic releases a new season or new featured episode that involves new resources, they pretty much always send over most of the patch a week early so that folks aren't freaking out while they're melting down the patch server on release day. :) Spreads it out a bit if they do it on a quieter day _before_ folks are anticipating the release.

You do have a good point there. If this is so then, on the day itself, a minimal download as a guess.

Well, sort of. [wry] The release day patch is likely to be a little bit hefty, too. Just not unmanageably heavy.

They do this everytime, as others have said, so patch servers don't have such a hard time on release. On the actual release, it will then be patched into the main game from there, rather than downloading again. Any patching downloading they do on that day will only be general and small, if you already have it. I'm surprised alot of people cancel the pre-patch, and then complain about it trying to pre-patch everytime they log off.

    Where's the delete button..
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    They should've made it a 1.21 GB prepatch for October 21, 2015. ;)

But on topic, the prepatch is standard operating procedure in the last week or two before a new season or expansion.
