So am i doing this correctly?

Back Story:
Back 3 or 2 years ago i left STO, now i'm back with a new account because i can't remember the original account.

So back to Topic, i found this fan site that lets build my current setting of my Prometheus:
http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=currentbuild_11118

I'm currently working on the borg space set (missing the Torp, and the other borg space set aka the dish, engines, and shield), So am i doing this correctly or wrong? Need advice on how been good or go DPS on everything.

I'm no expert on builds, and I've no idea how much you're willing/able to spend on the so-called "must-haves" the DPS crowd go for, so I'll leave that for those that are. A few things stand out though.

You don't want to mix energy types and are better going for tactical consoles specific to that energy type rather than generic energy ones (Fleet vulnerability locator tac consoles paired with crit severity focused weapons are usually recommended if you have access to them). Might want to consider replacing the torpedo and Borg consoles you have in the Tac slots with energy damage boosting Tac consoles too. you could remove one of the Field Gens and stick the Borg Uni in there.

Beam Banks rather than Arrays might work better on that ship, they hit harder and the more limited arc shouldn't be a problem for that ship.

Don't think you need three field generators either, there's several universal consoles that'd likely be more use although that depends if you can access Fleet stuff and which Rep gear you can build.

I'm not yet in a fleet and the other reps are below tier 1, I started playing this game around late September so still new with some things that wasn't there 2 or 3 years back. Isn't beam banks weaker, and have less range then beam arrays?

Actually, the only weapons really affected by range once they're in firing range are Cannons - they do better the closer to a target you are.

You might be thinking of firing arc and while Banks have a 90 degree firing arc compared to the 280 degrees of Arrays, STO uses a 'narrower arc equals more damage' system to balance it out, so Banks have a smaller firing arc and can only be front-mounted, but they do more damage than arrays.

The thing is, the Prometheus is an Escort, which means it has a high turn rate, so even with Banks, you can keep the enemy in your firing arc fairly easily.

^Words that every player should keep in mind, especially whenever there's a problem with the game...

    @ turbomagnus

I see what you mean, the less the arc range for weapons the higher the DPS is.

P.S By the way I forgot to ask are Dual Beam Bank affect by the Beam Overload, and/or the Beam Spreed? going to build a similar build with dual beam banks, and probably add a dual cannon or two heavy cannons (haven't made my mind yet). as always every info is appreciated in my book :)

P.S. #2 How about Omni Directional Beams? I know the kinetic one isn't affected but what about the other ones (Phaser, Antiproton, etc)

Dual beam banks are affected by Beam Overload and Beam Fire at Will. The Omni directional beams are also affected by any beam ability. The current trend now-a-days in STO* is to have a beam build with the ancient omni-directional antiproton beam array from the mission sphere of influence. It also synergy with the warp core the mission also provides via replay. Then you can replay that mission to get beam banks for your aft weapons(Omni + Borg Kinetic Cutting Beam, + another anitproton beam**), and replay Fluid Dynamics to get dual beam banks for you fore weapons. Equip antiproton mag generators to boost your damage. If you want, you can still keep a torpedo, but if you have majority energy weapons, then stick with consoles that boost your most fired weapon.

*Beams are now preferred over cannons now because of the huge damage drop off caused by distance. Cannons are much less effective at damaging targets at farther ranges than beams are. Granted cannons are higher damage per hit, but requires you to be about 2km from the target for maximum effect which puts you in the danger zone of warp core explosions. If you prefer a bit of challenge and can maneuver effectively, a cannon escort can still be as effective as a beam escort.

**You can also equip another omni-directional antiproton beam if you are lvl 15 in the beam R&D school, or if you want to spend a little over a million e.c on exchange to get one. It is not necessary but it gets rid of the problem of having that one weapon that can't fire from your forward arc.

for now i going to take a week break, and come back on or after the 27. Fallout Shelter needs me now

It ok but I would use 1 torp along with DC or DHC in the front and turrets in the rear and work on some good gear shields, impluse drive and deflector dish. The best for mission is Kaboli .

Ok, so start with this video series...

Some of it is a little out of date, but the basic principles are still sound.

    Then go onto these videos...

I realise that's a lot of watching, but it's basically everything you need to know
