Is it possible to not have the UI setup saved on the game server?

I have a desktop PC with full HD 16:9 resolution monitor, and a laptop that can run STO but with HD resolution (1366x768 to be exact).
Problem is, when I play the game on my laptop, the UI scales and positions are applied as if I was playing on my desktop - so everything is pretty much overlapping everything else. Now if I go about fixing it on my laptop, so that the UI is useful again, when I go back to my desktop it uses the settings I made on my laptop so everything is messed up once again. Obviously these settings must be kept on the server, so the question is, is there an option that would prevent saving them on the server? Or perhaps there are some profiles I could use, but Im not aware of?

I'd be happy if I could just save it locally, like many other MMOs.

I think the reason for this is to make it much harder for modders to make UI mods. If they were saved locally, modders would have a much easier time making UI mods, even without Cryptic's approval.

I disagree with it - I would love a DPS parser mod, or a better minimap mod. But the ability to make UI mods has been requested multiple times in the past and Cryptic has always said no.

I honestly didn't even realize that it was saved to the server but I agree that it should be local.

@eclipsor it is, you can do load UI when you log back on your new installed game. And for @tinkerstorm, you can do that with Save UI, you just need to save the uisettings.txt from the game folder.
