Cryptic: Any idea when XMPP Chat will come back up?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
So, external chat (or CrypticChat or their external XMPP chat server) has been down for all new logins (if you're logged in you're fine) for about 20 hours now, give or take. Quite a few people use it to keep in touch with their friends and such between their games.

Any idea when it'll come back up again?​​

    I'm wondering the same. I use Pidgin all the time to keep in touch with the fleet and friends...

    Seems to be an issue somewhere that has taken this down. Still waiting on a Dev Response though

    So, Cryptic, anything? Two 'business days' have now passed with no CrypticChat.

    I've been poking the netops teams about this. They're looking into it. After attempting a reset to fix the problem, they're looking into other solutions. For some reason, some people can use it while others can't. Trying to narrow down the cause of the problem.

    From what I gather, those who were still connected, and never logged off, are still able to use it.
    Anyone who logged off, not cannot relog in.

    That... doesn't bode well for a quick resolution. I didn't realize how much I leaned on Trillian till it went down. Suddenly, completely cut off unless I'm ingame. Even the Android App doesn't work. Welp, there's always Skype. Keep us in the loop! And thanks for letting us know you folks are working on it. It's reassuring.

    The issue I am encountering is when I look at the status screen on Trillian

    *** Reconnecting to Jabber as "demonicpagan@crypticspace.com".
    *** TLS established using AES128-SHA (TLSv1/SSLv3).
    *** Connection to JABBER has failed: invalid password.
    *** You have been disconnected.

    However, using that EXACT same password, I can log into STO just fine. Has the syntax changed for how to connect? Presently my settings are to use hostname: cyrypticspace.com, port: 5222

    Getting the same issue here, got kicked off at 6:16PM CDT yesterday and have been unable to get reconnected since. I'm using crypticspace.com port 5222 for my connection with Trillian as well, kinda stinks as I use it pretty heavily.

    Hopefully they can find out what's going on here sooner rather than later. :)

    Thanks for getting back to us, Trendy. Here's to hoping we get a resolution as soon as possible.

    There's apparently a lot of us who use external chat - especially as it's a FANTASTIC feature for Cryptic's titles, and frankly something I wish EVERY MMO had!​​

    From the looks of it, the interface needs to be bounced, which would require taking all of XMPP down for a few. I'm not sure when this is in, but once I get a few more engineers into the building who are in charge of this, I can give a better estimate.

    Just to confirm: the maintenance is over and STO servers are back up, but XMPP is still down. Did the reset not fix it, or did they forget to reset it? Trendy halp.
