    When's that in your timezone?

Almost clock changing time again and everybody's clocks change on different dates, so I'll keep this up. Missed last week's as I was in bed (have to stay up til 2AM to catch the maintenance notes).

There's nothing substantial in this weeks patch, other than whatever They are fiddling with behind the scenes.

Slim pickings this week. Though, for anyone having issues with maps crashing it's a good thing.

Almost always slim pickings for a few weeks before a big release... We ought to be used to that by now. Just grateful that Trendy has the notes posted here. Also grateful for the attention to crash issues, as I am still crashing on occasion on map transitions (namely around DS9, between alpha and beta quadrants, and Ganalda station)...

    :)

Darn...I was hoping callevista would see my report in the Tailor Issues thread that the fix on the Iconian Vest outfit didn't work, and check in a new fix. :(

Go check on the Tribble release notes down in their regular sub-forum. I think I saw something about Iconian vest repairs along with work on Klingon Female Boots and maybe a few other costume tweaks...

Of course, Tribble's into full-on S11 testing mode, so those changes will come with the release more likely than in individual patches leading up to it.
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

    Actually http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1204710/tribble-maintenance-and-release-notes-september-29-2015
Updated female Klingon boots with the same upgrades to shape, skinning, poly count, etc that were implemented previously on male Klingon boots.
Adding more usable costume parts in the category Armor – Iconian.
Chestgear Sci Researcher 2 should no longer clip with the Vaadwaur Upper piece.
Tribal Tatoo - 11 added for male and female human and aliengen.
That's all it says about the Iconian outfit.

I don't know if that's true (maybe a dev can say something about it) but whenever a large release rolls out that is supposed to be in the works for roughly six months or more. The work being done is based on the current game version from six months or so ago and just gets minor patches - which is why it can happen that when S11 rolls out things will be broken again that were already fixed because the patches before were undone, basically. So it makes sense not to roll out big patches before a new season hits.

As I said, just "read that somewhere"., I have no idea how software development works.

Not a long list, but it's be great if that fix worked. These days I literally am able to tell when I'm going to crash ;)

So no fixes for those 'features' that linger around for years?
    Are you deliberately insulting us?

Some companies do it that way, and some use some form of "continuous integration," as it's known in the industry, and some use elements of both... Continuous integration is generally considered the best solution that saves time and effort in the long run, but in the short run it can mean two dev teams undoing each other's work unless extra time(=money) is spent on untangling whatever piece of code they both work on.

So the maintenance time is longer for less fixes and they cut off tribble so we cant test over there while we wait. Sometimes I think its all on purpose while they snicker.

Resolved an issue which was occasionally causing maps to crash.

Really!?! Is that what's been happening? What I've been experiencing is weird rubber-banding... As in SEVERE herky jerky stuff. That makes the game unplayable. ...NO that must not be what they are talking about! It couldn't possibly be what they are talking about.

In any case, when are the servers going to be up? Its been 50 minutes since they were scheduled to be back online.

Can't remember the last time I had a map crash. Less than 5 minutes after logging in, what do I see?

    Server time out followed by:
    Map transfer failed.

    *slow clap*

I can't even get the log in screen. Zero claps from me :| How much personnel did they take out of server maintenance and repair to ensure that season 11 has a "clean launch" ?
