Voted gamma even though both ships are uglier than sin..

Here is thought crpytic... lets break this down in a way everyone is happy. Lets vote for each piece of the ship.. we can have a quad nacelle vs a dual nacelle vote.. a round saucer vs. monstrosity saucer vote, etc etc.. and then you put the ship together for us..

What Im seeing are design aspects that are split up... things that are on one ship that would look so much better on the other ship.

Posting to see who I voted for.

    Thank you for the time...

EDIT: Now I remember why I voted Gamma...
    Better side profile.

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

I would vote for NONE of the above...just tired of the saucer-like design...not very creative dino5-3.gif

#team gamma, however I don't like the saucer, The saucers from Alpha, Beta, Epsilon, and Omega would do better for an over-all design.

Everytime Crypitc releases a ship the painful howls of the masses at the ugly pointy saucer sections arise. The mournful cries of "Why not a rounded saucer? Rounded saucers are Trek!" fill the air. Then Cryptic offers us selections of roundes saucers and noses are turned up in the air as if someone told you your coffee had non-organic milk in it.

Give some folks a brick of gold and they will complain that it is too heavy to carry.

I don't mind four-nacelle designs that look right or have a functional reason for existing. But the two short nacelles on top just looks wrong imo and only make sense to me if there's a hull separation involved where the upper nacelles go with the saucer section and the lower nacelles go with the lower hull.

The thought occurred to me that some of those designs would have a spidery look if they were flying backwards. That would be a radical departure of the design to have a hull out in front, a 'streamlined' saucer in the back and long spidery nacelles. Hey, if we can fly a Ferengi ship backwards (Nandi) then why not a Fed carrier? lol

Why can't we just have all the parts avaiable and let the players use the ship customerizer in game to make what ever ship they want. I think that every individual piece (per ship type) that is available to your account should be available to use when you customize your ship. So, if you fly an escort, then every piece from every escort that you have acquired should be available for you to use while customizing your ship. Then we will truly have ships that every likes to fly.

The ship models aren't built that way. Every piece has to have a spot to 'hook onto' and some of those pieces simply wouldn't fit right except on the ships they're designed for. Trust me, some of those would be really really horrible looking and that would reflect badly on Cryptic.

In contrast, some of the newer 3-ship variants are designed to have interchangeable parts but only within that set.

Sometimes you just have to vote for what you believe in, no matter how against you the odds are...

Delta, because it has fairly symmetrical nacelles and a nice sensor pod/command and control tower on top.

Gamma because why not? Sure, it doesn't have the round or elliptical saucer of the Connie or Galaxy..but what other Trek ships don't have a round saucer? I can name a few - Intrepid, Norway, Defiant..these are just ones I thought of off the top of my head, plus every other ship STO (as it is considered canon the last time I checked).

Not thrilled with Delta or Gamma, really. This is intended to be a carrier. That means it needs launch bays. For a ship design, bays can either be along the central axis of the ship (think wing commander's 'Tiger Claw') or laterally along the sides (think Battlestar Galactica). The Delta just seems awkward for either of these configurations so it is most definitely out of the running. I suggest going to Utopia Planitia and jettisoning this engineer out the nearest airlock. What? this is Starfleet and not KDF? oh. Never mind then.

The Delta it is very similar to the Enterprise-J, imho.

Very good point. Maybe that explains the growing appeal of Delta, plus the symmetry.

Ever since I saw the quad nacelles (i.e.: Advanced Escort/Multi Vector Advanced Escort) I couldn't help thinking that they had the feel of X-wing fighters.

I have to say, I agree with this sentiment.

I prefer Delta, because it reminds me of the old NX era, the GOOD days.
