Please use this thread to post your feedback and issues found for our new 2 Cardassian Struggle Arc episodes "The Factory" and "The New Link".
Cardassian Struggle/Dominion Domination Revamp:
- “The Factory”
- This is a level 35 episode where Sarish Minna sends the captain to stop the True Way and the Dominion from joining forces.
- “The New Link”
- This is a level 35 episode where the captain must stop Laas from deceiving the other Changelings in the link.
- These episodes, along with “Spoils of War” and “Through the Looking Glass”, replace episodes “Badlands” through “Cage of Fire” in the Cardassian Struggle/Dominion Domination arc.
- Episodes “Second Wave” through “Boldly They Rode” remain unchanged.
- Delta Recruit Changes:
- These changes will not interrupt progress for Delta Recruits who have not completed the Cardassian Arc.
- The Delta Recruit objective that was placed in “Crack in the Mirror” will now be placed in “Spoils of War”.
- The Delta Recruit objective that was placed in “The Long Night” will now be placed in “The Factory”.
- Objectives that require playing the entire arc are now adjusted to not require the episodes which are no longer available.
- For players who have already finished “Crack in the Mirror” or “The Long Night”, credit for completing the Delta Recruit objectives will already be granted for “Spoils of War” and “The Factory”.
- This feature is still a work in progress and not completed.

The New Link:
STOWiki admin.
1. The text for "Tactical Report" appeared just before the fight with the J'H and was closed by combat meaning I defeated them before the mission objective to came up, breaking the mission and forcing a restart of the map.
2. "Commander notices player" - if you must tell, rather than show, please please don't use the word "player". Breaks immersion. You could just say "player notices you" or "player notices intruders" or anything but player.
Episode 3:
Overall, I'm again disappointed. It was content-light and I was done with this mission in under 15 minutes.
With the facility, it was too obvious it was a reuse of the Temporal Ambassador map. You probably could've gotten away with reusing the old assets from the exploration content. But the map should've at least been mirrored and the doors turned into Dominion Doors to not make it not so obvious.
And I find the Vorta's reasoning to betray Laas to be weak. I imagine it's meant to parallel Wayoun 6 in DS9: Treachery, Faith and the Great River, but Wayoun 6 was a defective clone. I didn't get the impression that this Vorta was also a defective clone, so given the canonical Vorta the fanatic loyalism, I just don't see the logic he would betray Laas in order to save the Changlings. So the Vulcan axion of "Needs of the Many" would not apply.
Then the finale with the destruction of the station.... why didn't I just blow it up with a couple of torpedoes? /facepalm/spoiler]
IMHO, the story would've been better if we were sent in to investigate an unknown True Way station, stumble on the Vorta and his Jem'Hadar guards (who are also investigating the station), discover that Laas is working with the True Way (or the mirror universe) that poses a significant threat to both the Alpha Dominion and the Federation, which results in an temporary Alliance to try to warn the Alpha Changlings.
Episode 4:
Issue: Tractor Beam Turret attackable at limited angles.
Overall, I found Episode 4 to also be very weak with the storytelling. Orias was lightly defended. Should've seen tons of stations, shipyards, and shields protecting the Alpha Changlings.
The Map, I found to be weakly constructed. There should've been an obvious shield protecting the changlings. An obvious perimeter guard. But instead we just follow the path down the mountain and convienently stumble on possible disgrunted Jem'Hadar, where the big boss Lamat'ukan had no presense other than just a strong fighting NPC.
IMHO, redo the map to give the impression the Great Link is highly protected. Because they know they are in hostile space and there is a Federation Starship in orbit, they need to feel like they're on the alert. And there is no reason for us to discover that the Jem'Hadar are disgruntled, because it has no factor in the actual resolution. Have Lamat'ukan stand guard before the Alpha Changlings, ready to give his life to protect them. But our characters wouldn't kill him, because Federation knows he's just doing his job, and KDF would view his actions as honorable.
And have this mesh better with the other episodes. We started off with the True Way interacting with the Mirror Universe and they both have ZERO presense in Episodes 3 and 4. What does the Orb of Possibilties, the Mirror Universe, Laas, the Alpha Dominion have to do with the True Way other than what was mentioned in the old Path to 2409 that they were hired as guards. But nobody who reads those chips know that. Where is these connections? These are more like stand alone missions than a storyline Arc, even if it was reduced to 4 missions. They just don't connect!
That is why I'm giving these episodes an F!

In "The Factory":
In the dialogue before beaming down, I know what Ketracel White is, can we have an option to say so? It's a tiny thing, but I felt daft having to ask my tac officer what it was.
In "The New Link":
In the initial space segment, some of the turrets are placed awkwardly, I had to lap around the station a few times to find an angle I could attack them from. My hangar shuttles were having the same problem it appeared. Not sure if this is working as intended.
Also one of the ships was strangely just called "Dominion", looked like one of the Scarab looking attack ships.
Overall, once they're finished up these will make a decent replacement for the old stories.
Edit: Forgot to point out, will someone please issue Commander Sarish a proper uniform?
- Devos system map has low frames per second (FPS) compared to other new maps in the game.
The New Link
- Orias III system suffers the same as Devos (low FPS).
Squishing Bugs for a better future
Could not repel. My character is left hanging on the ledge, holding the rope, but will not repel down to the factory floor.
I beamed out several times to "restart" that part, with the same results. using the scanner to find the repel location does not work. If I walk to the edge, my toon automatically starts the repel, but does not complete and the mission hangs up at that point.
