Do we need another t6 tac ship?

Do we seriously need another t6 tac ship/escort. That's pretty much the majority of the fed ships released for t6. I'm happy and all that new ships are being released. And with the t6 defiant supposedly on its way. What's the point? Where's the t6 Sovy, fleet command battle cruisers, etc.

    Command battlecruisers are already Fleet level.

    And the objection would make more sense in the form of 'Do we need another T6 FED ship?' because FEDs have had escorts (Pilot, intel, Escort carrier), cruisers (intel, Guardian, Command, Exploration, Advanced heavy, Battlecruiser) and sci ships (intel, Experimental, Pathfinder long range).
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    No, check your facts. We have 8 fed cruisers (Eclipse, Guardian, Resolute, Andromeda, Arbiter, and the 3 Command Cruisers) and only 5 escorts (6 with the T6 Veteran destroyer ; Phantom, Alita and the 3 pilot ships). So escorts are more needed than other cruisers for the feds.

    No and it does not matter. Updates are awesome. If Cryptic were fixing bugs, then we'd be seeing threads about why there are no new ships.

    Lady, you do have a point but I trying to include the presidio with the tac ships, and with the Hestia coming along and a supposed t6 defiant coming soon wouldn't the tac ships outnumber the cruisers by 2. I apologize if it looks like I'm trying to start and argument because I am really not. It just seems that cryptic has put widely requested t6 ships like the Sovy or rom warbirds on the back burner for more escorts.

    Recall what happened with the Galaxy? Many months (years?) of griping about it, then it's remade and the firestorm could have charred California off the map (hyperbole, I know). Then they remade it and the skin gets more applause than the layout. But wait ... no dreadnought remake?! Zomg Cryptic is lazy ...

    I see what you are saying though and the facts speak for themselves. All I'm suggesting is ... meh. The Sovy is coming (and it has got to be better than awesome, for Cryptic's sake me thinks). I mean, I'll bet people will quit over whatever they do with that ship.

    In other words, the Hestia is a non-issue in the grand scheme. It's pretty, but for my part, it is being ignored.

    Oh yes, the Sovereign is no doubt coming sooner or later, I hope bundled together with a T6 Vor'cha (and a warbird - the T6 Mogai would fit there better than with the battlecruisers, btw). It would however be one more cruiser to an already most well packed category at T6. At least the Sovereign and Vor'cha stats can't be easily predicted as they both have several T5 versions with differing layouts.

    What's generally quite missing at Tier 6 are types of ships not much associated with FEDs (raiders and carriers) and non-FED sci vessels. The other categories are more or less filled already.

      Yes we need to release...re-release all the t5 ship's at t6. Then again at t7 when we run out of ship's and so on and so forth.

      Well it's inevitable really that there will be demand for versions of the favourite tier 5/Fleet ships we've invested in before DR arrived. It's no different from any other upgrade be it a new version of a particular car or an OS for a computer (how many versions of windows have there been?).

      Yes, seems likey. I say at the current pace it's still 2 years off, of course. And I love more skins for my ships.

      WTF is a 'tac ship'? There are escorts, cruisers, science vessels, and a few types in between. Is a 'tac ship' all escorts AND any cruiser with a tactical LTC boff station? I have no idea what a 'tac ship' is, but this SCI is going to love using this new escort.

      That said, you do have a point... There could be more equal distribution in the current ship lineup. Especially for the KDF and Romulan factions.

      The current pattern of releases suggests very strongly that what we're seeing is a process of adding T6 versions of all the C-store T5 ships (and their fleet counterparts). I expect we'll see the whole lot done eventually maybe with the exception of a handful that don't sell well enough to warrant the investment.

      At least they're fixing the older models and (hopefully) even some bugs related to the ships.

      Yep. Hell, even EVE Online "fixed" the skins on their ships and gave upgraded visuals.

      The Sovy is coming, and I think Cryptic is taking care with it because of its popularity.

      i would quite like to see a t6 command warbird carrier a Romulan carrier with two hanger bays and perhaps a cupple of more Romulan fighter/frigate choices

      While I tend to agree that Escorts seem to be getting more attention than cruisers and especially sci, I think it only SEEMS that way. Personally I was physched for the Excelsior refit, however after really looking at it, my enthusiasm dropped to barely anything,, then it came up on sale.. so I bought it. On the other hand there was never any doubt that I was buying the T6 Promotheus. Full disclosure: I'm a cruiser pilot! At one point or another ALL my toons regardless of career have flown cruisers. However, there are times when I want to just WRECK stuff, and fly fast and nimble, and potentially die a lot,, but that goes along with playing an escort. I've even found a new love for sci ships.

      I agree. Although it may not seem like many devs read these types of posts on a regular basis,, my guess would be they don't completely IGNORE them either. Cryptic needs to make $$ to run STO. Players buy products with $$ to run STO. Cryptic needs to put out products that players are willing to spend $$ on. Cryptic would not make any $$ if they continuously put out products that no one wanted. Therefore, if more people buy escort type ships, Cryptic would tend to lean toward escort type ships.

      A for the T6 Sovvy, Oddy, Etc. I'm guessing they are keeping those in reserve for the big Trek 50th B-day next year. We got a BUNCH of new and different ships beginning of this year,, then they moved towarded updated designs for Canon and STO ships. Next year they will bring out the big guns... that's my thinking anyway.
