A New Carrier. With It Will We See New Pets?

Ive never been a fan of the Peregrine. While Im a fan of fighters zipping back and forth in STO Ive just never been able to look at the Peregrine and think. Thats a cool design. It always felt very Star Wars T-47 Airspeeder to me with how clunky it appeared. And when the Peregrine was introduced to STO I couldnt help but hope for a more sleeker modern design to eventually somehow find its way into the game. Something like the Valkyrie Class (Granted I understood that that was probably never going to happen because of copyright. But something inspired by it or similar to it would of worked for me). After all the Peregrine itself is supposed to have existed sometime prior to 2370 making the fighter 40+ years old. And with all the new 2410/T6 overhauls. I personally think with a new Carrier. Maybe its time we see a new Fighter.

    i guess we will see new frigate class pets (2x1)/hangar. and i really hope omega, epsilon or gamma make the run. preferably omega. it looks really neat and whole. the other ones more or less look like "normal" fedchips, that gained to much weight ^^

    maybe we will see defiants as hangar pets, lol ^^ i hope this carrier will get a lt whatever/pilot hybrid, so we also can summon those reinforcement squads ;-) or maybe a new hybrid class "hangar officer" or whatever. where you can actually make the pets do manouvers.

    also i think the kdf alongside should get an update to its carrier as well.

    That would definitely work with a little brushing up. The image is a bit hazy so its hard to get a solid idea of what it visually looks like up close. But something based on that design would work great in my opinion.

    I could see that being added. Though the question is what they would use for the Frigates. Defiants? Sabers? Or maybe we get the Soyuz in the game as a pet?

    Those ship appear in game as a pilot ability, and they make the Kolvoord starburst as well, it looks really sweet.

    Would be kind of useless if they don't add frigates. Fighters tend to explode if you sneeze too loudly.

    It should come with frigate pets and a new Carrier Specialization along with improved Fighter/Pet AI and control.

    But I doubt it will because they shipped the T6 Heavy Escort Carrier already, making it that they aren't thinking ahead in any fashion. So I expect nothing but disappointment.

    I'd love to see them use the Epsilon and Sigma designs, shrunk down appropriately, as the fighters/frigates for the new carrier. Those compact and dangerous looking shapes are better suited to agility than being a big slow carrier.

    I concur...always like that design since seeing it in insurrection...sucks never saw it again except in Star Trek Armada.

    This made me laugh really loud, now my wife thinks I've lost what little mind I have left, I needed that.

    Heavy Escort Carrior pets that in turn pump out fighter pets. Sure, why not. :wink:
