That artwork pre-dates my tenure here, so I can't comment on it directly.
However, it's safe to say that a company like Cryptic, that creates and maintains multiple online games, is constantly in the process of trying new things, and prototyping new concepts, new games and sometimes whole new IPs. Some stick around longer than others. Most (in my experience) don't get to the point of being announced externally (or haven't gotten there yet).

That's completely understandable. However, if this game died in development, it would be interesting to at least know what it was, as those screenshots look pretty interesting. If it is still being developed, I can understand not being able to discuss the details.
Concept Art is often overproduced with multiple samples to test out ideas and concepts. Most never see the light of day except in coffee table books years later. But I agree it would be cool to find out what they were going for with some of this design works. The first image looks more like SG1 or a visit to Skull Island than Star Trek.
Taco once posted some pics of something outside Champs and STO that he'd worked on. It looked similar. But he said it was like Bort said... a test concept that they had him make a mockup of.
Well, looking at your OP,
1; in the lower left we see a group of humans dressed as if on safari. They seem to be headed for a temple that is choked with trees in the jungle. The main identifier, other than the lack of anything to obstruct the scenery, is the gear the people are carrying. slung rifles and other assorted things for a safari. Nothing that places it outside Victorian era. It's hard to set an era, but it is not futuristic and doesn't look like a swords and sorcery thing. The ruins look vaguely like Cambodian or Indonesian architecture. The village along the river matches that.
2; jungle/forest scene, only feature is a massive automaton shaped like an idol.
3; definitely looks Victorian-ish, but with Chthulu-esque monsters.
4; the vehicle looks like an early model Landrover, one the left horizon we see what may be an Egyptian pyramid. then we have the people, they look about the same as those in picture 1. Oh and there's two things that look like skeleton robots.
The way Taco described it, he made it sound like a Sherlock Holmes/Jack the Ripper type world with monsters. I sincerely doubt this game got any further than the concept phase.

Yeah that was my thought as well.

One of those screenshots look like a possible Victorian era, but 2 definitely do not.

I'm not sure where the pics I saw earlier are.

The gear/clothing those people are wearing and that gun are definitely *not* Victorian. They look like fairly modern explorers/mercenaries.
Definitely not. That giant stone guy could possibly be a D&D concept, but none of those other pictures fit into the Neverwinter world.

Do you have some picture you are basing that on?

Stuff like this shows far more practical clothing in use.
Also the guy in the first pic seems to be wearing a canvas backpack with a bedroll.

I'm not sure if you linked the pic you meant to, as I don't see any visible connection between that pic and the pic in the OP.
