the dps challenge benefits

I've noticed since the dps challenge started, pugs are posting HIGHER damage and have bettered themselves, on average. I'm still seeing people doing 250 dps in isa, but overall the pugs have improved.

Thank you so much for giving people an incentive to improve themselves. I just wish more players saw the forums and were aware of the challenge.

I totally agree here. And not only pugs, fleet-mates also. Think we shot half a dozen players of our armada into the metal DPS dudes contest. Comparing to half a year ago the peeps in my surroundings almost bring in double DPS. The result is we cut through most of the contend like buttah and can easily carry new peeps to game without being annoyed over it.

Thx a bunch holofrog, felisian, ryan and the others. I welcome all players of my community to the metal chans with open arms. Those leagues are awesome and have the same team spirit and friendship attached to them as our armada.

hmm i don't like the dps chase , but i do like the comunity spirit , and the fact that someone actually CARES about someone else. Sto became a single player game , but with contests like these we can improve the gameplay , and make players comunicate. Guys you gave to the player what Pwe didn't.

Yes, community spirit is good. What isn't good is when those same players then turn on those who don't want to play along or don't measure up to yourselves. If someone doesn't want to, don't rage at them, do't even try to force them. STO is a game where anyone can play anyway they deem fit, and providing they are doing something and not just sitting there/AFK, I personally don't mind it!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

I completely agree. Unfortunately, I'm one of the few who would. :(

What if "sitting there/AFK" is legit their idea of "fun"? Maybe they're doing heals or other support things that don't involve moving or shooting?

If they are just siiting there/AFK, they get reported, simple as. And I repeat "providing they are doing something and not just sitting there/AFK, I personally don't mind it!"

Honestly, I'm fine with anyone doing 10k+ damage. Anyone who sets their ships up properly for any role can do 10k dps. It doesn't matter if they're healing, tanking, crowd control... etc. 10k is extremely doable in any tier 5/6 ships. I've had a few come along that just did those roles and did about 10k damage.

To me, 10k or 5k+gravity well is pulling your own weight in an advanced queue. It's better now that you can't fail but those conditions are not hard to meet.

I said it already in DPS-Challenge thread, but I'll say it here again:
I really enjoy that positive feedback of you, folks. That makes me really happy.

To give players a reason to improve themselves dps-wise was the idea behind that whole thing. And it makes me proud, that that worked. I tip my had to the players, who reached their goal, who thought, that that would never be possible for them.

oh Holo it was difficult to reach 48k dps from 30k. It required me to improve my flying skills to get the extra hits in
