Qa'Tel Flight Deck Raptor

Are many people using this ship, opinions?

In terms of Flight Deck Escorts, not a Fan of the T5 variants of the Ar'kif & Akira, but love the JEM HEC.

I have the Pilot Raptor 3pk, not a fan of the look, but got the 9pk. The Mat'Ha is one of my favorite ships in the game.

Just want to get a sense of peoples thoughts on the ship, I it is even seeing much action.

Aesthetically I really like the look of the Qa'Tel.

I much prefer the Romulan Pilot Ships, as well as the Fed ones.

But again just looking for some feedback, I'm not opposed to skipping right to the Fleet Version either, as I'm not a huge fan of using a ship on more than one character.

Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Of the whole HEC release across the 3 factions, the KDF one is the best for one reason:

    Superior, flexible BOFF layout.

The Akira's layout suffers in that it's very general in what it does. It's a very "safe" layout. But it won't let you get creative in layout rearrangements.

The Ar'kif is the worst. The Universal station is a False Choice, the very same way the Universal was on the T5 Fleet Vor'Cha. Use the slot in any other type than what is obvious, you're going to have serious gaps in BOFF ability coverage.

Meanwhile, the KDF one lets you make an even layout. Or it lets you go specialize into any TAC, SCI, ENG, yet the basic BOFF layout will never leave gaps in BOFF ability coverage.

A misgiving I have with the KDF HEC is that as a descendant of the Qin Raptor, it inherits that same pivot point. It's not a 5/2 Escort, either. Other than that, the ship is flexible as hell.

If you look at the weapons layout, it has the 4/3 of a destroyer, as well as the basic console layout of a destroyer. The only difference between it and an actual destroyer is the Hangar Pets. I bought the 3 pack of the HEC. I personally love flying a carrier in game, and if I can get what is essentially a carrier/destroyer hybrid, you can bet I am all over that. And just as a bonus, once mastered, that trait effects all pets in 10 km of you, not just yours, as it is currently written. So ALL pets would get beam overload or cannon rapid fire based on which one you use vs that pets weapons, hence why I use the hangar pets from the Nukara rep.
Too many characters to list but still adding more.......The addiction to this game is real

My question would be first is the 12k zen 9 pack worth it to get or even worth it just get the KDF 3 ships and then the 3 cross faction ships is okay on price but is it worth it lol.

As for the Pilot ships, I have made extensive use of the Romulan ones. I've used the KDF ones on my Ferasans. If you build it with a short neck and wide wings it can look somewhat BoP like. Fed I've used it as well for the traits. I really prefer the ENG or SCI variants. So you can certainly just pick the one you want. I have 7 KDF, 3 ROM, 2 Feds.

That said my 2 favorite Escorts for Feds are the Ajax & MVAE. It is the KDF Pilot Ships I was least interested in, at least the ones from the 3&9 packs.

My favorite KDF Ships would be the Vor'cha, Mat'Ha, Kamarag, and Vandal.

Aesthetically the B'rel is in there as well, but I prefer to use a T'Varo when it comes to EBC.

I went and got the 9 ship/12k zen mega bundle since I saw I had enough dilithium left over from the start of this weekends bonuses. I usually expect some gimmick but they actually surprised the hell out of me with these ships. Now I know why a bird of prey pilot ship or something to suite its needs/reason why they chose a raptor for this one. It did amuse me when I was blowing up ships before I realized they were there. The trajectory pilot skill amused me as well so that you can shoot the front facing of someone while they are coming after you as you slide right out of their weapons range about fell out of my chair with the applications you can do with these ships.

You can make a torpedo boat out of practically anything, and make it effective enough if you know how. It's more than slotting the right weapons and equipment. Traits, BOFF abilities, Specializations, etc all play a role. Everything has to be pushed to somehow get as much of that Kinetic damage onto the hull, one way or another.

I use the Fleet Qin Flight Deck Raptor and I find it very fun. I fly it more like a FDC then a raptor as I don't fly Raptors or Escorts, but it fits my playstyle just fine as it surprisingly tough.

Between the hangar bay and the boff lay out, it very flexible. The trait is awesome, but gets even better when used on Carriers.

I like the reinforcements fighters power in particular, it sort of like having a bonus hangar bay. Sort of.

The trait goes well with scramble fighters trait, because you can buff your fighters damage with scramble fighters, then have then fire beam overloads.

I give this a solid 8 of 10. It's more or less like an Alita which I would expect. Not having point defense hurts it a little, but that does free up space for other things. Having 8 tac spots is good for loading up for my alpha strikes. :D The art of the ship I'm afraid to say is a mediocre 5. The pylons are thin as paper and I don't know how it could support anyone in the nacelles if noone can get there. At least I can use the Qin pylons with the Qa'tel nacelles. But I had to knock it down 3 for they ugly (and we're talking Klingon ship here) yellow nacelles. There's no reason they should be yellow. On the shows, there were ships with red and others with green. None were yellow.

I'm using the Qa'Tel and loving it. With the right ship traits, I find it's got some major damage potential, especially if you're using the Nausicaan fighters with it, and buff your disruptor damage. Currently I'm running the Blood of the Ancients set on it as well with coalition disruptor arrays, but I'm going to try it with the new rep weapons and see how it goes.
