Cruiser speed in PVP

in PvP Gameplay
Cruisers are great in PVE because the electronics are so slow and it is hard for electronics to one-hot kill them. But how do cruisers compete now in PVP against escorts and science ships?

The speed difference is incredible and seems unrealistic compared to the shows and just seem generally bad for game balance. I noticed pretty much all cruisers have an impulse mod of 0.15 the only real difference among them is turn rate.

Any suggestions besides fly an escort would be greatly appreciated.

    Aux 2 damp with doff epte 3 evasive Conn doffs helmsman trait advanced engines rep trait default engine power set to 2nd highest preset at all times.Rcs plus resist times 5 epte evasive hax doff that nobody can get anymore who knows Wtf else game sucks

    That's just extreme on any cruiser... Even the Oddy would have difficulty refusing to move then, let alone stopping...

    Aux2Damp with it's doff on it's own is good enough to get almost any ship moving nicely.

    If you're in a cruiser you shouldnt be trying to move fast like an escort, you're a hub and an anvil, you should be attacking other cruisers and using extend shields and other team abilities to help your team members so they can keep the oposition off your back and thus keep you alive in return. If you are supporting your team, your team will not leave your side and the battle will come to you.

    Put all your power into weapons and engines, and hull tank like the proest of pros.
