romulan reassign underperforming officers

briohazard73briohazard73 Member Posts: 29 Arc User
I don't know what I have to do but when I use a ROMULAN terminal and ROMULAN duty officers, I expect to
get a Romulan or Reman duty officer in return. For some reason I get a random Fed/KDF officer which ever
faction my Romulan is affiliated with. Is this what is suppose to happen because if i do the reassignment from
the race specific officers at the academy i get a race specific officer.

Welcome to the Romulan Fraction, enjoy Cryptic's half-assed job.

Taking Dilithium and other resources, and then randomly not give you what you were looking for in return, is at best dishonest, and at worst robbery. In my most humble opinion.

It's a pretty glaring oversight. It's not like I can't go to either of the Academies if I want an allied doff.

At least we do have our own unique recruitment missions.

And the "reason" for this appalling "feature" is so that we can get DOFFs with Resolve.

Guess what? We don't want 'em. And even if we DID want 'em, that's what Cardassian Officer Exchange DOFF missions are for.

Please, Devs, take out the alien trash (from our terminal). We implore you! o:)

I would love to be able to put any doffs in, Fed/KDF/Whatever and get back a Romulan or Remen from the console on New Romulus. Or maybe add an academy where we have people similar to the other two to exchange officers in, and why can't we just get some Romulan doffs with resolve? Maybe take time out of making another effing fed ship to do something for the Romulans?

The "Resolve" issue, reminds me of the "Founders of the Federation" issue. Some Vulcans, Tellarites, Andorians, and Humans, may or may not believe in "Democracy at gunpoint", while some Romulans and Remans, might or might not have resolute personalities, and not just stick to the same 5 or 6 traits. Cardassians are almost too posh to have a "Resolve" trait, in my opinion.

I survived the death of my homeworld, the corruption of my government and its subsequent collapse, wanton Klingon aggression, wanton Elachi and Hirogen aggression, and began rebuilding a major faction in the Beta Quadrant..... The question is how many Romulans and Remans DO NOT have the resolve trait by now?

    Rhe've. Witness this, for example:

    sto_delta_recruit_poster___united_we_win_by_thomasthecat-d8z2vtu.jpg

Right there above the Romulan's head: RESILIENCE. The Klingon has HONOR (which is verily the virtue Klingons elevate above all others, at least in theory). The Human (? not entirely sure what she is) has INGENUITY (which I would not personally regard as the defining trait or virtue most cherished by Humans, but I suppose it suffices for the purposes of recruitment propaganda). But at this point, after all we've endured, New Romulans at least are certainly resilient and resolute.

The most strange thing happened to me as well on this subject - I received a batch of new DOFF's - and much to my surprise I have at least 2 Federation DOFF's - and I am KDF aligned... One is an Andorian (Founder of the Federation - blah blah blah) but at least the other is a Vulcan... (This I am more willing to accept as serving on a Romulan Vessel - than an Andorian, unless of course I was UFP aligned)

Do they use such a random DOFF assignment program, that it will even give you non-aligned crew??? (Note - I have done no DOFF exchange missions in Federation space - or anywhere else for that matter. Although I do have several Federation people in my Brig - )

If KE allied Romulans and Remans can now use Vulcan DOffs, that is a huge plus.

Well now - for whatever reason they are in my brig - (I would like to think they offended one of my crew by acting snooty as Starfleet always does but I digress) maybe a glitch?

As someone who made a romulan toon recently (for the first time), the doffing system is huge disappointment to me. Trying to get romulan/reman crew only is very hard and on top of that, the exchange system gives me tellarites and other federation races instead purple romulans.

What are the odds to get a) usefull purpose doff b) a romulan or reman ? I know Cryptic loves RNG and whole STO is based on lotery system, but what's enough is enough.

At least the downgrinding works most of the times and I get blue roms from purple feds, the rest is downgrinded to starbase.

And I never seen some kind of romulan/reman asylum mission, do they exist ?

Would it be really hard to fix this ?

While I agree whole-heartedly with your main point, your last line puzzles the heck out of me! Cardassians are posh? Really? We saw Terok Nor (in flashbacks), and it showcased the "flaming trashcans" school of design- hardly the Hilton. (Admittedly it was a slave camp/mineral refining station). We saw Gul Dukat cheerfully pirating around in a stolen Klingon rustbucket, and I don't remember him ever asking someone to pass the Grey Poupon Yamok Sauce. The only remotely posh Cardassian we ever saw was Garak, who was an outcast mostly living the Fed lifestyle (with the cover identity of an effete tailor), and even when we saw his actual home on Cardassia, it was hardly palatial (although I admit he DID have one servant). I'd just really like to know what struck you as posh about Cardassians, because I honestly must have missed it.

QFT! If anyone deserves Resolve as a trait by now, it's the Romulan and Reman survivors of Hobus.

Just a question, is there some profitable reason for them to reduce the Romulan / Reman BOFF recruitment assignment, or lower Romulan DOFF generating assignments and features? Like maybe, to make people buy the DOFF pack on C-store or the Reman BOFF on C-store? I was out of the loop for a while... If there's some profitable reason for a stealth nerf, it'd be quite understandable then why... this glitch is not addressed, or maybe even working as intended.

The other in-game reason they might say is, Romulus did get destroyed, it should be understandable that the Romulan and Reman population eventually dwindle and it'd be rarer to get them. (To which I say: "meh, whatever, I'll listen to your in-game lore excuses once you make sense of the millions of Tovan clones")

I only have one Romulan, but this is provoking my curiosity, too. Being free to play, for the most part, I do rely on that terminal to fill my collection of Purple DOFFs. (Ugh, I gave up on BOFFs...I have never seen the Reman assignment one at all)

I, also, find it inconvenient to not be able to access "Security" assignments (turning in contraband) on New Romulus command.

I do not see it being out of the question that there would be Klingon and Starfleet security officers stationed in New Romulus Command....as I am sure there would be a need to coordinate security or policing efforts together on New Romulus (same as there is on DS9).
