Are you guys experiencing some type of server issues. I cannot log on to STO. I have also been experiencing logon issues through Arc for the past month. I've been having to logon through Steam. Before you start "Its your computer." No it isn't. There is nothing wrong with my computer. I have even went and reloaded Arc and it still doesn't fix the issue.
Today (08/28/2015) starting around 6 pm (EST-US), the game started to boot up, but when it reaches the character selection screen and then goes to enter game; I am getting a logon error message.
same issue here. ever since Thursdays patch I've had horrible lag problems and no it's not my pc. i was playing just fine half an hour before the shard went down for maintenance.since it's come back up i get lots of rubber banding, lagging out for minutes at a time and disconnects.and it's not my high speed internet either as i play multiple mmo's and have no issues with server response times on any other game.
Ive had the same thing all night, was able to clear one or two characters on the Entity after work and then major lagging, unable to log back into the game, even the launcher is reallly really slow to come up. Going to try it once more tonight before I just give up and RIP 8000 dil for today.
I have been having many issues getting on. The login server keeps timing out. I just got home from a long night of work and all I want to do is play STO before bed
I'm on the East coast of the USA and haven't had a problem tonight.

Same here: (Boston, Ma area)
. looooong time to load launcher.
. Looooong time at character selection.
. Login server times out.
. Severe lag once I finally get on
. Server not responding issues
Been doing it all day and into the night for me.
As a matter of fact, it's been happening on and off for the past three weekends, usually on Sunday afternoons. Peak times I would surmise,
I'm getting the dreaded "server not responding" repeatedly, when I can get logged in. All other online sites and everything are working fine. Can't even get to a doff mission before disconnects since the last patch. I've done all I can on my end, it's definitely server side issues.
My problems with this same form of lag and disconnections started at the same time the OP quoted, 6 PM EST on 8/28. At around midnight, the game became unplayable (the ship moving around like an exaggerated version of William Shatner on Family Guy). Shortly thereafter, the game died: disconnected. This morning (around 9 AM) I was able to get on, shortly. Then, when my toon began to float above the ground on the fleet spire, I knew things weren't looking good. Shortly after that, disconnected. It is 2:29 PM now. I have not been able to get to the character selection screen because of "Account Server Timed Out", which has been common over the last five or so weeks. Before that, there was lag, the kind that makes the game unplayable, but nothing as severe and persistent as this.
I'm having the same issues that these folks are having. Crystalline Entity mission is unplayable for me right now. The game lags so badly that it's like I'm fighting someone else for my ship control, and have extremely severe rubber-banding.
I also get lots of the evil "Server Not Responding (##:##)" messages, and/or outright booted out of the game. Then, it often takes a long time and/or several tries to get back to the character selection screen. Once I pick my character, it often will log me back out, or take a very long time to get logged in. I also get the "account server timed out" messages.
Whatever gremlins got in with the code, PLEASE fix them! Right now, the game is essentially unplayable for me.
I have been having the same issues over that last three weeks, it seems to have gotten worse since the patch on the 27th. Took 3 attempts to get into the forum for me. (location New Mexico, yes it is a State )
I'm having the same issues (west coast, though). Had "SERVER NOT RESPONDING" and a countdown going more than 5 minutes at times before it disconnects me. Filed a report explaining it WASN'T my computer. My computer is capable of doing so much more simultaneously than just this game, and still happening. I checked my patch, rebooted my computer, no such luck. My PWI account, which is running at the same time in catshop mode at the moment, is having NO problems whatsoever.
This is why some people are able to get on Neverwinter and STO, and some aren't. Unfortunately, my trace route to PWE servers in Boston happens to go through one of these affected outage areas. For me, and likely most others affected by this problem, this appears to be the reason for these problems.
Might changing DNS servers give you clean trace route to the servers? I don't know. I tried alternate DNS servers with no avail, but that doesn't mean if others do so that it won't work. It appears that selecting a DNS server located further north might have a better chance of success. If you try changing DNS settings, make sure that you can do so without messing things up, and look up some documentation for your ISP in order to find out what is allowed/disallowed and what is feasible/unfeasible. I've only dealt with one ISP in the last ten years, so I don't really know how they will differ.
The link to this map has been posted elsewhere a number of times since this has been a problem, but I figured I'd post it here for those who may find it useful. It seems likely that the mods, devs and other members who have commented on this Level 3 matter have explained it quite cogently (zing). Is it possible
Also, the devs and others who attempted to lock down these problems could not do so. It seems, at least in this case, that this issue is out of their control. It's been difficult for me to stay away from playing a game that I've honestly been playing way too much, but however it goes, I will try to remain patient.
issue still exist, but loading launcher, go to options, select EU proxy server and restart launcher, will get you in sto, a little slow but deffently playable, for now this works good
