"Elite Rewards for Veterans like You!" but not for those who play!

hakazehakaze Member Posts: 81 Media Corps
so how come only random people got this email, people who never played more then a few hours, people who didn't spend a time to people who never left? but me and my friend who played nonstop never got a mail? ;_;

So supporting the game by playing and paying disqualifies you for being thanked ? :<

Because you don't need to be drawn back to the game. You're playing it, and could get your event ships, bonus dilithium from various special events, bonus skill points from special events, possibly Delta Recruit account and character unlocks.

The other guys - if they don't come back, they will never buy anything in the game. But if they come back, now they have at least a tiny bit to make up the difference between you and them, and might feel they have a chance, or at least a reason, to try.

yes, I don't mind enticing people that left but seriously? "As a thank you for your support," it is the wording that annoys me, it's like people that left are more important and "supporting" then the people that actually helped in the Iconian war :< If they can send out promo codes to people that stopped playing, would it murder em to send out a simple newsletter that starts with thanking the community? If it helps any, since you (like me) have been here playing the entire time, you did get a free Kobali Samsar Cruiser, a Breen Sar Theln Carrier, and a Ferengi Nandi Warship which are all Fleet Level T6 ships. Yes, you had to put in the 'work' to do the related events, but I think we all know how easy that was.

I get it, it kinda sucks to see people that left get rewarded, but they're trying to bring people back.. it's just how it is. If it helps any, those people coming back keeps the game you enjoy alive. Those that stay will likely purchase a Fleet Module to upgrade the ship to Fleet level, so it's economic support that lets you keep enjoying new content.

I'm not saying your feelings aren't justified.. they are.. just trying to put a positive spin on it I guess. ;)

the funny thing is, I went on an extended holiday and did not play for a little over 30 days...I'm now the proud owner of a free Andromeda class (though I quickly replaced it with the galaxy class skin)
As usual, Mustrum is right...even a single person coming back through this measure is money for cryptic, even if they don't directly spend money on STO right away.

If you want the ship (for free), don't log in for a month!

    1) Your tears are delicious, feed me more.
    2) I took a break after DR ended because I got burned out on it. It's how I play the game, every few months I'll play like a man possessed and then leave for 3 to 6 months. I got a code a couple days after I started playing again because of the crystalline entity event (best fleet mark per hour ratio ever) so it was a nice "welcome back, please spend another $600 with us" (lifetime sub + zen purchases to maintain balance and show continued support). It's not just people who haven't played since launch that are getting these so please stop acting like these codes are just for deadbeats.

Just to be certain for the future: When I go into the office and great my co-workers with a "Good Day", it doesn't mean I don't wish you a good day, too.

The e-mail wasn't addressed to you, that doesn't mean that Cryptic isn't thankful for what you do.
And that they seem to appreciate you - there was the daily give-away last (?) week, which included 2 spec points per character. That was pretty neat IMO. It's not 10 for one character, but I got definitely more than 5 chars on my account.

hmmm that's a nice way to look at it too :O I tend to feel left out when not addressed so I guess that's problem I have rather then cryptic being mean :P

Not really meant to be hostile, though I do enjoy tears it's one of my primary fuel sources, I just wanted to point out that your assumption that the codes went out to people who don't play and pay is wrong.

It was an example of the person who I know got the mail while on holidays :P she brought me some nice pictures from universal studios :D . But Tears as a fuel source? I thought most here use Dilithium :O! what's the light years per tear value ? :P

Only about .5 but tears are much easier to acquire than dilithium so it all works out.
