Talos IV for 50th Anniversary

I have a special request to the Star Trek Online programmers.

Please make a Talosian episode for the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek. I mean it's also a must really. Doesn't need to be any big story arc just a single stand alone episode is all I'm asking for. With your guys abilities and talents, I'm sure you all could create a fantasic and mind blowing mission for all Star Trek fans.

    Starfleet General Order 7 says no. I'm not sure what kind of story could be done about Talos IV, anyway. The Talosians were dying out already when Pike and crew first visited, Vina and Pike were no longer able to breed a new race of entertainment for the Talosians by the time of "The Menagerie," and the existence of telepathy is no longer such a shocking thing nor are telepathic powers quite so unopposable by 2410. What reason would we have to go there?

    I think the second pilot offers some possibilities, though (and it has the virtue of "Where No Man Has Gone Before" actually being shown 50 years ago, whereas "The Cage" was not seen on TV until 1988, even though it was redone and stuck into a wider story for "The Menagerie" later in the 1966-1967 season). Galactic Barrier, silver eyes, godlike psionic powers thrust upon those who are unprepared, consequent madness, and all that jazz. Maybe even a little trek across the mad places between the stars from the Milky Way Galaxy to the Andromeda Galaxy to bring the next big baddies into STO.

    JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

    Talos IV is a no fly zone. Besides... we'd need a reason to go there, and I seriously doubt we're gonna be ordered there.

    Hehe, Lieutenants are locked to T1 or T2 ships aren't they? Target practice it is then.

    Only way I could see something like that work, would be through a foundry style mission or something. Say a dog fight which ends up with your ship crash landing on the surface of the planet, then Star Fleet or the KDF having to do a lot of paper work in order to come rescue you, and then a court martial for not self destructing your own ship in space.

    Bureaucracy at it's finest.

    It's the first Star Trek Pilot! A Talos IV episode would make a direct connection between STO and Captain Pike. Maybe the Talosians go to you and force you to go to the planet because they need your help. It wouldn't be so hard to do.

    there are lots of planets in the game you can't land on, i think it would be cool to have and a pop up quoting the penalty of death for landing

    While The Original Series started the whole franchise and should get priority, the 50th Anniversary update should be something that celebrates all of Star Trek's history. My proposal would be new missions that deal with events from each of the series.
