want new hangars for the new t6 heavy escorts' trait

I like the new hangar trait from the t6 heavy escort....except there's a little problem with what hangars to slot.

aside from ship limited hangars (like the stalker stealth fighter, xindi, jh and voth ships, for example,) the fed have a totla of one, count it one, cannon hangar that can trigger with the use of this trait on a cannon escort--the peregrine.

Similarly, the kdf only have a single beamer--the orion slaver.

and the rom well, they're shorted no matter what side they're on, partly becuase they only have access to allied ships of tier 4 or less.

in another thread i suggested unlocking all those fighters that are bound to ship type, but if not that, could we get some new hangars, say, from the lobi store?

    I've been kind of annoyed that the default hangar the ships come with can't even benefit from the trait...it appears that Pulse Cannons aren't buffed by CRF1...So you'd have to upgrade hangar to even attempt to benefit from the trait.

    Smashed my plan to run Elite Interceptors with CRF1 too...

    We do need NEW hanger pets...the old ones...well they are getting OLD :#

    Your wrong the Klingons don't have any faction based hangar pets with beams that the trait will work on, because THE TRAIT DOESN'T WORK ON ORION SLAVERS AT ALL. Test it and you will see.

    I didn't know that CRF1 doesn't work on pulse cannons, another bug for them to fix, you should do a bug report.

    well at least it was mostly only stipened i wasted for this trait it sounds like.

    Of course with all the lag, snr's and just an unstable connection that is getting worse at best, it wont matter because the game itself is about unplayable at this point.

    Currently you can't even buy Hanger Pets from the Equipment Vendors!

    Until they fix this you can't even advance Starbase projects that require them.

    Ive bought that stuff last night and I briefly tested blue delta flyers from the equip vendor 2 days ago. Figured I just use those or runabouts and make it a beamscort. Delta flyers were purchased from the vendor on ds9.

    Elite scorpions are available in the romulan rep but they are massively expensive and I dont know if crf is working on those.

    Well its was photon torps I bought last night, however I did buy standard delta flyers when I got the ship a couple days ago right off the bat before I left ds9 because peregrins suck.

    A couple ideas:

    Make UR hangar pets upgradable to epic.

    Come up with a new 2409-esq version of the Peregrine hangar pet.

    Add the Talaxian ship (like Neelix's ship) as a hanger pet, since the asset is already in the game.

    That would be the biggest waste of resources ever. Since the global pet nerf, there is absolutely no advantage to upgrading rarity on hangar pets. As you can see from extensive testing, there is no difference at all in survivability or damage granted from pet rarity. Buying anything more then the blue rarity pets is just a waste of resources.

    I just want the standard Danube Runabouts for my Alts, nothing fancy, just would like the option to buy them from the vendors back again.

    I sincerely hope that whoever was exploiting them to cause their removal gets severely punished.

    They definitly need to boost the survivability of fighters. Normally on my T5-U Heavy escort Carrier I would use the Yellowstones, which don't die too often. I switched back to the scopids to try out the trait from the T6 Heavy Escort Carrier and in a lot of fights I could not even keep the fighters alive (and that was mashing scramble fighters on cooldown). The AI really needs to be upgraded on them, even with improvements they are still dying a lot of warpcore explosions. Some of them I see fly *into* the explosion when they are clearly out of range of it when the targets ship dies. They just keep flying at it like they were going to do a suicide run to make sure that ship is destroyed. The healing related starship traits don't even help, because when they die, it is ussually them being 1-2 shotted.

    I do not expect the fighters to live as long as the yellowstones, but really, they should have a good chance to nearly not die in most fights, especially when running hanger related traits. What I think might be nice is if the fighters somehow scaled based on ship equipment. Either let me equip actual gear onto the fighters, so I can make them better, or have the game reconize, in some way, how good or not good my gear is, and scale the pets to reflect that. Say, pet damage is a certain % of your weapon damage, pet cannons might get a larger boost from this than pet beams and frigate get a larger % than non-frigate... or something... pet shields would gain a % boost related to your shields, etc etc.

    As for the trait, an easy fix would also be if activating an ability triggered a similiar ability on the pets. Basically, if I activate Rapid Fire, my pets gain Rapid Fire and Beam overload both. That way you can use whatever pet you'd like, and some of the lobi/lockbox pets that have both beams and cannons will be made more desirable. Though, I also think it would be cool if when using Fire at Will and Scatter Volley, the pets gained that those well...

    Seriously, we do need some new hangar pets for our ships, Fed, KDF, and Republic. We've been using the same fighters on our carriers for years..

    Technically, the Peregrine fighters were already old and repurposed when they were used in the Dominion War. In TNG peregrines were a courier ship that were modified by the Maquis. After seeing how useful the Maquis made them by refitting them as fighters, they did the same thing themselves for the Dominion War and they were pretty effective (if you watch carefully in the show, the peregrine fighters were destroying Galor class ships by themselves over the course of a few waves of hit and run tactics).

    So the bulk of the Federation's fighters are 50-70 year old civilian ships that were repurposed into fighters. I think it might be time for the Utopia Planitia yard to spare 5 people for a couple days to whip up a new fighter. Hell, how long did it take for Tom to design and build the Delta Flyer, and that was with them stranded in the Delta Quadrent and low on time (everyone had a day job) and resources... Now would be a perfect time too. One of the reasons that peregrines saw so much action in the Dominion war is because they were short on ships because they were losing and small fighters are quick to build compared to things like a galaxy class starship. The same should be true now too. We lost a lot of ships to the Heralds, they should be focusing on building smaller, heavily armed ships that are quick to produce while still sizable on firepower. The piliot ships and carriers make perfect sense for filling this role in the war.

    I wouldn't say no reason, it depends on a pet to pet basis.
