"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Anyone who is voting for TWOK over TUC is insane.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Ohh man, Twok obviously, but they're all pretty close together imo. Twok, Tuc, Fc, Tvh and Tsfs are all really close and are great films in their own right.
Now the WORST would be a comparatively easy call to make, either 5 or insurrection. They both have their moments of greatness though, like the scene with Mccoy and his father, or the big scream from Ruafo linked earlier.
The klingon attack music from the first film though, simply fantastic!
      I need a beer.

I'm going to go with First Contact, it's within my favourite era of Star Trek, the story is pretty good. Most of the TNG films weren't very good in my opinion.

Honestly I don't know what was so wrong with Nemesis. I know that Marina Sirtis and Levar Burton hated it, but I'm not entirely sure as to why.

Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.

I dare you to do better.

Fraaaaaaaaaak. It's like being asked which of your children is your favorite. x.x

Ok, feet to the fire, I had to go with Undiscovered Country. A solid political thriller plot that, while based on then current events, still holds up today with its themes of change both societal and personal, and what extremes we drive ourselves to in the face of them. It has action and intrigue with every member of the crew getting a moment to shine and solid performances by the entire cast. It has what I consider the best, most nuanced, portrayal of both the Federation and the Klingons to date, painting them as both fundamentally different...and not as different as they like to think. Pound for pound, it has everything I like not only in Trek, but in movies in general.

Wrath of Khan is standard bearer and benchmark. Search for Spock will always hold a special place in my heart as the first Trek film I ever saw. First Contact gets points for following up The Best of Both Worlds and I'll even admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Final Frontier. But Undiscovered Country is the one I'll pop in any time if for no other reason than to see Kirk and Co make one last grand stand before riding off into the sunset. :)

Not much to add to that. ST6 dominates as ST & SciFi movie in general. :)

Dunno. I liked Nemesis back then. Not in UC or TWOK league of course, but a solid one. I think... closing in to rewatch it (currently going trough a 1-10 collection).

Felt the scenes where Clone lusts after Troy a bit awkward. If the actress hated the movie it probably was even more awkward than I remember it. Also did not like the hair/no-hair retcon. But thats just minor stuff compared to the whole movie.

I'll know more after rewatching in a few days.

Yeah, that bit was incredibly awkward. But still, there was a TNG episode which did basically the same thing.

Yeah, I remember that. Good devil is in the detail example. While on first glance it was the same it actually was not. All the reasons where different (stealing life force trough telepathic/empathic connection iirc). It did not come with the "WTF?" feeling attached to it.

Yeah, I thought it was quite good myself. Shinzon was nuts and all kinds of over-the-top but I think he made a nice bad-guy. And the thing with Troi was creepy, but it made his character that much more.... evil?
